Industrial grade, hefty price tag but highest quality generator on the market
Excellent generator with the quality you expect from Honda. The generator runs at about 74-76 dB in inverter mode (about the sound of a vacuum cleaner) and upwards to 92-115 dB in inverter mode with load (about the sound of a loud riding lawn mower). The unit is heavy however there are solid handles and wheels to move it easily. The engine is built solidly and you can see the quality of manufacturing when you really look at the engine, the encased frame, exhaust and filter configuration. Considerations are included in the generator design for bad gas and condensation with a water outlet below the ignition to allow escape of condensed water increasing the reliability and longevity of the engine. Since this is a commercial grade industrial generator, as noted by the large anchor clip at the top of the frame for storage at job sites, if you are planning to use the generator for home backup power (which is how I am using it), the generator requires a small modification to permit GFCI override. Honda has published a supplemental instruction sheet to the manual that instructs how to complete the override. This is one of the highest quality generators you can get at this wattage level. The price tag is hefty however the rationale I used is if I take care of it, it will be a 20 year plus generator versus something I have to replace in 3-5 years at a much cheaper price tag. It's worth the investment if you need long term reliable generator power.

Where's the refund? Generator returned 3 weeks ago
The generator had multiple problems. The battery didn't start it, needed to bring vehicle to jump start several times, and it needed an adapter for the plug in that they sent me, and noise level was 70-some decibels, (very loud, a problem for a stroke patient my wife takes care of, and we found a generator that gave us the 220 volts needed for less and asked to return it. They said ok but charged $850 restocking fee and it's been weeks since we shipped it, but still no credit on Prime credit card ???

GFCI keeps tripping
Need to float the Neutral jumper if you are running this generator through gentran to your panel. See Honda’s Service Bulletin #20.
