Sturdy and Reliable
I've had this for a year now, and I can definitely recommend it. This is a sturdy umbrella, and its auto-open and auto-close mechanisms work reliably, which is great for getting in and out of taxis, buses, subways, stores, etc. (The spring mechanism is tough, so I tend to use the floor or a nearby wall for leverage when compressing it.)The size is a good compromise between coverage and compactness—it's larger than the dinky ones at the drugstore, but will fit easily into a backpack or travelling bag (though not a small purse). Mine is orange, which makes it very easy to identify and improves my visiblity to cars in bad weather. There might be some super-high-performance umbrella that manages to be as useful as this one but also lighter and more compact, which would be nice as it is a bit of a club, but I haven't come across it and I'm pretty satisfied with this one.

Great umbrella at a great price.
I bought this a few months ago but have waited to review until i used it in a few rainstorms. This umbrella has been great and definittely kept me dry. i love the one click to open and close feature but you do have to reset the springs if you click it closed but then need to open again. pushing it down once its clicked closed takes a little effort but not too bad. my only complaint like others have mentioned is the size of the handle. I wish it was longer so i can get a better grip. But other than that this umbrella is perfect it hasnt inverted on me and i have used it in some pretty windy and rough rainstorms. I am able to cover myself and my son when he is in my baby carrier. the size of the umbrella is just right and the color (red) is vibrant and pretty so im happy i went with a color instead of black

Great travel umbrella.
I take these on vacation and have several colors. Small enough to pack, light weight, great for sudden weather changes.

Sandy and broken
The umbrella came in with sand inside of it!?!? And then it would not close. Do not recommend.

Good value for the price
Good umbrella, not too heavy, durable and easy to use - one button up/down use. The only brand of umbrella I buy. I've never had one to break, only have to replace them as I misplace or lose them. Good value for the price.

10 Years and Counting!
So this review is coming 10 years after I bought my umbrella. I was recently helping plan for a backpacking trip to Europe and I went back through my purchase history in 2014 to share some items I bought that I thought were the most helpful items I bought back then and used on my first international backpacking trip. A lot of the stuff I bought after lots of online research I ended up not needing, some of it broke or I found other ways to do things but I will tell you that the only thing other than a good microfiber travel towel that I absolutely recommend is this specific umbrella. I took this thing to Europe for a month on a winter backpacking trip and it saved my bacon a couple times. Took it to China where I lived for two years and used it frequently there. I've now had it in Chicago and it's still sitting by the door when I need it for local use in the city or for my international trips. It's still in great shape. I had one little corner where the thread that held it onto the umbrella frame broke but I was able to have someone sew that back on for a few bucks in China and I probably could have done it myself with a needle and thread. That repair was years ago and it's still going strong. I'm shocked I haven't lost it at this point and that it's lasted this long.

small, light, overpriced
This very small and light, so good to stash in a travel bag. However, I give it only 3 stars because it is being sold for $12, which is ridiculously overpriced. Guys on my street corner sell ones like these for $3. The umbrella cannot withstand any wind of more than about 5 miles per hour, it turns inside out in even a light breeze. It wouldn't be much use in a downpour. It's really an umbrella to walk to a nearby car when it is drizzling.

I have 2 of this umbrellas that I bought about a decade ago. I am still using them. This third one is for my son. Enough said.

I've had the umbrella since 2014 and I'm still using it. Very sturdy and even pretty wind resistant, and the quality is great. The opening mechanism IS STILL functional, and works perfectly. The velcro strips came off but are easily sewed back on. Even with one broken spoke the umbrella still keeps on going. Truly, great quality, and I would definitely buy again. Only downsides are that it is a (tiny) bit heavy, and a bit small in comparison to most others.
