Master & Dynamic MW08 True Wireless Earphones

When looking to purchase earbuds it really depends on what you want to use them for? You are either looking for earbuds that work well with your phone, that you can use to make good quality phone calls with or you want a pair purely for listening to music which produce the best sound quality. Ideally you want a pair that can do ‘both.’ I did my research and watched a load of ‘YouTube’ reviews and started looking at the more expensive Bang & Olufsen and Sennheiser models which I nearly went with. The downside however was that the B&O’ offered great sound but vey poor battery life. Most of the earbud reviews I saw went on about ‘call quality’, ‘active noise cancellation’ ‘wireless charging’ etc. In my case I wasn’t really interested in these features as I just wanted some buds for listening to music. Then I discovered the Master & Dynamic range and in particular the MW08’s. The MW08’s are quality. They look like an expensive set of cufflinks you would receive as a retirement present. These are beautifully stylish and made from tough, durable and quality materials; ceramic and aluminium (which also acts as the Bluetooth ariel). The charging case is weighty, built from steel and clearly made to last. As if this wasn’t enough you also get a corduroy carrying pouch with a strong metal spring lock. Master & Dynamics are clearly proud of this product. Some reviews stated that the ‘Active Noise Cancellation’ wasn’t as good as some of the other cheaper models on the market. Others mentioned that they don’t offer wireless charging or ‘multi point Bluetooth connection’ (meaning that you can link to two devices at once, a laptop and phone for example). Well, since then the MW08’s have received a software update and I can confirm that they now ‘do’ offer multi-point connection. However, let’s look at the features that set them apart from the competition: The battery life is exceptional – 10-12 hours, that’s a day’s worth of listening and not many buds out there get even close! But here’s the thing – when listening to music they sound incredible! In fact, as good as they look! These paired flawlessly with my Sony Walkman, my iPhone, my laptop. You can also download a companion app which some have criticised as being ‘too basic’ i.e. – no graphic equaliser. However, in my view, a graphic equaliser is a tool used to try and improve inferior sound quality. The MW08’s are the earbud equivalent of a Hi-Fi and any good Hi-Fi expert will tell you that with high quality audio equipment you don’t really need an EQ. No, they already sound fantastic and balanced so why would anyone want to mess with an EQ? The sound stage is wide and natural. Vocals sound fantastic! This is apparently due to their huge 11mm drivers. No other earbuds offer drivers this size as I write this. You can hear every instrument clearly and with subtle detail. The sound is not muddy, the bass is not overdone. I should also mention that they are comfortable to wear. Designed to be perfectly balanced in your ears and come with the more ‘comfortable’ silicone tips rather than the squashy expanding foam ones which crumble after a few months of use. Ear Tips are included for all ear sizes from ‘Extra-Small’ to ‘Extra Large,’ so you should be able to find a good fit. So, if you’re more interested in buds for making phone calls and looking for all the ‘bells and whistles’ that some other brands offer, such as wireless charging, better noise cancellation and better apps, then go with that. On the other hand, if like me you just want to listen to music at its best you can’t go far wrong with these! As the old saying goes; ‘you get what you pay for!’ and in this case I believe it is certainly true!

Bought these a few weeks ago and yes sound quality is outstanding. Price tag very high but for myself I'm prepared to pay it- probably some people won't be. If bought you will not be disappointed- very high end build, case and earphones superb quality. To sum it up if you're looking for outstanding sound quality and premium materials these are for you. If you consider the price a little steep there are lesser priced products that will be most acceptable.An old saying- you get what you pay for ....

Although costly i am in a position to afford such an item ,there are many far cheaper true wireless products on the market that i am sure would have satisfied me.But the beauty of the entire package swayed me into purchasing the MW08. The product oozes quality .

These in ear buds are right up there at the very top of audio buds. Perfect sound, good battery life, and come in a gorgeous case. The buds themselves have a lovely colorfull finish. I most highly recommend them.

Having successfully used several pairs of Master & Dynamic MW07 earbuds for a while, I was looking forward to enjoying the claimed superior sound quality from the newer MW08 model. Sadly, setup and charging failed even after repeated attempts and many troubleshooting efforts, so I never even got a chance to try them for fit, let alone listen to any music. Amazon were as usual excellent with their no-quibble return policy.

I like the material quality, in ear fit and battery life. The stainless steel case is easily finger marked. Noise cancelation works flawlessly. Biggest issue is precarious connection to smartphone even when held right next to the earbuds.

So I got into consumer audio a few years ago, when I got a pair of Jabra Elite Active 65t's as a gift. Great buds, and they got me hooked. I went from those to Sony WF-1000XM3's, then the next gen of the same line. I dabbled in premium with B&O's Beoplay EQ's, which blew me away with the detail of the soundstage. I thought audio couldn't get better, and then I bought these. I legitimately got chills all over when I put these in my ears for the first time. I listen to a lot of metal, so I prefer an emphasis on punchy, tight bass. But the MW08's have so much detail across the board that even though my music isn't as intense, it's so darn beautiful that I don't care. These things make every day that I use them that much better, simply by virtue of making songs I've known for years sound new again. The only reason they're not five stars is because the battery life is less than desirable (although I think I'm an anomaly, based on the many reviews that rave about it). The design is also stunning, elegant, and understated, with an emphasis on aesthetics and build quality that is almost non-existent in the world of consumer technology. If you're willing to spend a pretty penny on tech, buy these right now. You'll never look at Airpods the same way again.

Music is a big part of my life. I collect vinyl. I spent years upgrading my system bit by bit. It sounds solid. I have a pair of Hifiman Ananda Stealth. A pair of Hifiman Sundara Closed Backs. Sony XM5 over ears. Multiple DACs and blah blah blah. I only mention all that so that a general scale of audio experience is made. In terms of buds, I have Sony XM4 earbuds. Between Status 3anc buds. And a bunch of cheaper ones. In all of those headphones, I've only had 1 that wouldn't stay in my ear. These ones. Easy fix normally, but since they don't use a standard ear tip, a replacement is not an option unless you wanna buy the big mixed sizes box from Master & Dynamic. I'm not paying almost 40 bucks for 1 pair of foam tips that MIGHT fit. My pair has been having some Bluetooth Issues but that would seem to be a one off. Doesn't seem to be a common complain at all.
