Six Flags Great Adventure (Images of America)

Lots of history and fun photos. The downside is the color photos are reproduced in black and white. A well written book with each chapter giving a brief yet accurate history of Great Adventure. For those who been there their whole lives it's a wonderful trip down memory lane.

Highly informative and quality read

This book is a good addition for those who collect other amusement park books in the series. I enjoy the photos of the attractions that are no longer at the park, as well as the photos of those attractions that remain.

I am currently a 2013 Premium Season Pass holder and love both the amusement park and the water park. I went to Fright Fest 3x last year, the amusement park 2x so far this year and the water park 1x so far this year. Great Adventure is a huge part of the history of New Jersey and it's connection to the Jersey Shore. The book definitely overlooks the Great Adventure mistakes and mismanagement but I have another book that is nothing but that. I first went to Great Adventure when the haunted hay ride was there. At that time there were almost no flat rides and I don't go on roller coasters. I visited again when the ride simulator was open and enjoyed that very much. This year I bought a Go Kart season pass and this is now my favorite ride in the park. I have many problems with Six Flags and have sent them to the management with each survey I am sent. I was recently invited to join the Advisory Committee so maybe I can help make a few improvements to the park, like a complete redesign of the horrible parking lot. Anyhow, I loved the book and enjoyed seeing photos of the rides and attractions that are long gone.

Tons of great pictures and a great story about a great park that has survived many UPS and DoWnS. One of the last great themed parks built in America, (next to Fiesta Texas) built to a grand "over the top" scale. A really nice addition to my collection.
