Not very clear where needed.
Overall, the book provides a general guide for building a a decent chicken tractor, however, it truly lacks in several places concerning details that are essential. If a person is handy, then they will most likely be able to overcome whatever obstacle they encounter. I improvised in several places, yet found the book to be handy. Cannot imagine building the chicken tractor straight from the book. Should I build another, there will be even more changes.

Good information but could use an update I think.
There’s good information in the book about raising broilers and the cut list is good. What really needs work is the assembly instructions and diagrams, especially the conduit bending instructions. Just an FYI if you want to bend 1/2” emt conduit, and have your center line in the middle of the bend, don’t listen to the 5” business in the book. If you do that, one end of the conduit will be 3 inches longer than the other. Mark your center line and then measure 3 1/2” off that, place the arrow of the bender on that make and bend your 90. This will leave you with two 61 1/2” legs. Also, for the 45 bends, I had to mark 11” up from the ends and put the arrow on that mark to produce a finished product that was 5’ 10” inside, which is the width of the tractor. If you follow his guide it produces a product 6’6”. Not sure how this can be missed or maybe I misread it but who knows because he does not go into measurements for anything on the conduits. All in all not a bad book and the tractors will do just fine, it’s just that if you’re buying a book to help build something it’s should have more build detail and diagrams and less fluff.

Best Chicken Tractor design ever!
I built this chicken tractor in the spring of 2016 and the plans are really good. I made some small modifications and added 2 perches length wise to allow the birds a chance to get off the grass. They sleep there every night. I have layers in this tractor and have duplicated the front door side on the rear to allow nest boxes. I haven't figured out how to convert this into a house for the winter yet but I have a few ideas. If I had to do it over I would have purchased my wheels before cutting my skids as I miscalculated the tire size too large and had to step down to a smaller diameter, not a big deal but my yard has some uneven parts and a larger wheel would have been better. I am considering making a cantilever front wheels but haven't gotten to that yet. Installed game cameras on two corners as predators that dig can and will and did get under. It's fun to watch the video. I used 1/4 hardware cloth on the entire coop and fastened it with a crown stapler. It's really tough and no predators have been able to move the metal at all. Used spring loaded hinges to make the door close behind me. Move it every day, anything longer and they will take down the grass to nothing. Sometimes i move it twice a day. Fresh poop smells but once it dries and is a day or two old, you can't really smell much. Painting the wood parts inside and out a dark green made it blend in nicely and the white tarp looks pretty cool, I used black hinges and hardware.I can't say enough good things about this chicken tractor design, John really did his homework. It's well worth the price, read it twice and build it.

Stop looking online piecing plans together and buy this
Stop piecing all those youtube videos together and just spend the $10. The book is so full of useful knowledge that John lived so you don't have to make the same mistakes. This and his other works are great, actually using one of his models for a business plan I need to submit for a project.

Need a better design for the door!!!
I thought it was pretty well laid out and fairly clear but the door needs to be redesign since most people can walk in there Sunday not hit there heads.

Good book with a quick read, good information
This book has a nice set of plans with a good materials list. A good starting point for building not only chicken tractor but a large variety of useful homestead structures all based off of the standard design. I plan on building a chicken tractor as well as some hot houses for starting seeds. The ability to build one design simplifies the process and enables me to have common parts available when I need another structure.

A must have book if you plan on pasture raising poultry!
I can not recommend this book enough! I met John several years ago and fell in love with his chicken and the way he raised them. Fast forward a few years and I found myself owning a large farm and there was no question in my mind that I would build his tractors and follow his plan.We planned out our year and built 3 tractors in the spring. By mid summer we had built 3 more. We had a very successful broiler year using these plans. My morning chores were so easy to do by myself. The tractors were also a big hit with our customers. When they see the attention to detail it really shows how well the chickens are being cared for. These tractors quickly became a topic of conversations around town. Not only does this book lay out everything needed to build the tractors, it includes invaluable information regarding pasture rotation, feed, predators, and all the other little questions that come with deciding to raise pastured poultry. If you are thinking of building a chicken tractor, this book is a must have!

Great material for chicken tractor construction
I had been watching many videos on YouTube looking to build a chicken tractor. This particular model seems to be the most popular. The book is fairly simple and short but is a great beginner's guide to building. He explains what materials to use and why.Only negative thing I have to say is that the assembly portion of the book could be more specific (like Ikea instructions) but at the end of the day this book helped me build a very sturdy yet mobile chicken enclosure

Well illustrated, clearly written. Excellent.
Read it in one sitting, great book - illustrations are clear, concepts are clearly communicated. Well done Mr. Suscovich, thank you. I bought the book to see if I could modify this design into an egg mobile - but I think I may have to start from scratch. We are considering meat birds but want to start with eggs first.

Good plans for the most part although the final assembly ...
Good plans for the most part although the final assembly details are lacking especially the front and the door. However that's good as you can then be somewhat creative. My first tractor turned out great and neighbors are asking me to build them for their use.
