Exceptionally happy with my purchase!The tankard is very well made and has a gorgeous polish. The tankard DOES NOT leak so your beer is safe and sound! I have filled this tankard to the brim on many occasions and it holds it all in.I was pleasantly surprised to find that there was no odor to it. These tankards, along with any horn product, are often susceptible to having strong odors. However, that is not the case with this set. If for whatever reason your tankard arrives with any odor, just wash with warm water and dish soap. Do not use harsh chemicals! This is definitely more than a show piece and perfect for your favorite ale. I recommend this to anyone who wants to drink like a god. The same can be said for the shot glass.Lastly, seller messaged me asking me about my satisfaction with the purchase so customer service is also top notch. It's this attention to detail the sets businesses apart and I will be a returning customer.Update: Had a second set shipped out to me and it was just as good! The color of the tankard you receive is random but I was lucky enough to receive a white one that now sits next to my first, black tankard.

When I got this in the mail I was definitely not ready for it. As soon as I opened the package I heard a horn bellow from afar as if Heimdall was blowing Gjall. As I lifted it from its box I felt a presence and turned to see Thor standing there, bowing slightly to the majesty of this most amazing mug. As I washed it is could hear Freyja whispering to me about the greatness to come. I filled it with beer and when I looked into the glass I could see the Visage of Odin himself looking fondly back from the suds. The first sip caused hair to grow on my chest, face, and back. I felt the bloodlust of battle flow through me and screamed at the sky for hours, never growing hoarse. As I finished the libation I felt the presence of a Valkyrie who asked if I wished to be escorted to Valhalla. When I arrived Odin told me I had to wait for death but a seat would be waiting in his hall. So if you want to drink like a real viking just get this magical horn mug and the gods themselves will applaud your manliness.Now for a serious review.High quality. Both the mug and shotglass are sealed perfectly. And they are both beautiful. I thought at first they were almost completely black but when I put it in sunlight it showed all the detail. Great product.

This thing is beautiful, the pictures don't do these justice, I could sit this up as a decoration. I came with a very minor smell to it, it goes away after a wash or two, which I think it tells you either on this page so that shouldn't be a surprise. Has a nice solid resin bottom, size it pretty spot on as well. The inside is not smooth, which is explained on this page somewhere on this page as well. You won't even notice it when you drink from it. I've so far only used it with mead, cider and a mead cider hybrid. All taste fine, but FEEL great. I haven't used the shot cup, yet because I was under the impression you were not supposed to use hard liquor in these containers because it would damage the seal will double check with seller, and update once I have tried it. Although, I am sure it's fine I'd rather be safe than sorry.

I should probably give it 3 stars, but the mug is very attractive and seems to be well constructed. It's hard to find horns curved properly to make these yourself, but I have made several drinking horns over the span of my life, the process isn't difficult, or even really time consuming. My only irritation with this mug and shot glass combo is the price. They're clearly mass produced, you can buy a single horn in texas from a place like Cavenders for all of $3.00, the resin/wax/coating process can be laborious, if you choose to do it at all, but it's cheap.Ultimately, I was happy with the purchase, it was worth $35 to me to not have to boil the thing for hours on end, taste test it over and over, then scar/decorate it, and coat it... and thus far it seems well sealed. Overall however, I feel it's a bit overpriced to be so basic.So, if you want a totally standard, boring mug and don't mind paying $40 for one... This is a solid purchase. Though I'm happy enough I marked it 4.5 stars, in all reality for the price it should be a set of 2 mugs and 2 "shot glasses". "Shot glasses" by the way, that are definitely viking in orientation as I'm pretty sure mine is a double, but you know, if you're going to drink from a horn the last thing you should be doing is measuring your alcohol.

So.... after getting hooked on Norse mythology and discovering mead. I needed one of these in my life.Unfortunately when it arrived I noticed blemishes where you grip the handle like it was missing finish, it felt rough and didn't look pleasant, then I got hit with the smell. I'm not sure how to describe the smell but it was awful, between the two I knew I wasn't going to keep it. So I put in for a return and boxed it up. The next day when I got off work I was going to drop it off and then reorder again thinking it was just a fluke.Around lunch time I got a email from the seller. He requested pics of the mug where it was missing some finish. So I unpacked it and emailed him photos. He offered to send a new one out so I canceled my return. There''s other mugs I was looking at from a different seller but they have a lot of 1 stars about the bottoms leaking and falling apart.The new one arrived.JUST WOW!!!! I can't say enough about it.It's absolutely beautiful. This time I purposefully sniffed it and sure, there was a slight smell, totally different from the toxic smell of the other one. It was probably just from sitting in a box and bubble wrap. I washed it with soap and water and no more smell. In fact I have a bit of mead in it now that I'm drinking as I write this.I did try to wash the other one out with soap and water but nope. The smell will not go away.So things happen.. if you happen to get one in bad shape. Take a photo and show the seller.Problem solved.Otherwise I can tell you you'll be very happy with this mug. It looks absolutely stunning. And really makes you feel like Sif and Freya are watching over you in Asgard ;)
