BEST SERVER ever for my PLEX needs (with unraid). Just worked and love it!
The media could not be loaded. This is the best thing ever for price. I put a micro-ATX board in it, SAS card 4 port, 4 drives (20TB) to start, 13900-K processor with 64gb of DDR RAM. Because my setup was so small, I even mounted the water cooler fan (one fan with heat sink) in front of the 3 orange fans. I WRITE THIS SO IT CAN HELP OTHERS.I was very unsure based on some of the feedback, but the one person who posted the pictures was right a spot on. Note someone complained they didn't have the motherboard screw things. It's a small bag of 4 smaller bags that's in the box. It's not packed in the server. I could have easily thrown this way. Make sure to take open it and dump everything and should see it. When I exceed 16 drives, I'll upgrade the motherboard for another card slot (would need for the last 8).

its got 24 hot swap bays
first the bad, you will not be able to access the ports along the bottom edge of a ASUS Pro WS WRX80E-SAGE SE WiFi II motherboard . i will hav to modify it so i can get power to the pcie slots. when I get done modifications it will no longer fit into a rack.the case is a knock off of a norco case. the metal on the bottom of the trays have never been a problem on my norco case nor do i expect any with this case. if the bottom of the tray touch the pcb, you are probably doing it wrong . the back planes block air flow unlike the norco chassis which are mounted horizontally so air better flows through the case.the trays are the same and interchangeable . there are no fancy vents they cannot be closed blocking individual drives like older norcos. the build quality seems fine to me . until I solv the issues with my board and case modification what the performance will be. i may post an update if anything else comes up.you cannot beat the price without spending hundreds or thousands more.

A few issues -- not worth the headache
Build quality is average to poor. Some motherboard standoffs would not screw into the designated holes, one drive backplane was completely dead (wouldn't even light up) and another only activated half the drives. One reviewer suggested holding the backplane while inserting the drive but I'm not interested in manual workarounds to something that shouldn't be malfunctioning. The drive tray guides are cheap plastic -- one was broken when it arrived.Too many issues to overlook. It's possible I just got a bad one from an otherwise solid batch, but I'll never know. I returned it and spent a little more on a higher quality (but lower capacity -- 20 vs 24 hdd) Silverstone case.

Its a server case with lots of room.
lots of drive bays. It has lots of room inside.you will need a SAS controller to use this case. the hard drive backpain uses SFF-8643 connections.i would recommend a cable of at least 1M or 3.3 ft and 6 cables the backpains are not connected together.

It's Not Bad
This case is my first dive into working with SAS. The case wasn't a bad price. Overall most the quality is pretty good.My biggest issue is that the backplane flexes too much. The drive would go in enough that the power came on, and it thought it was in; however, some of the drive would never show up. The only way I picked up on this was that one spot no light would come on when I put the drive in. I noticed it was easier to pull out that all the other drives, so that lead me to try putting my hand on the backplane as I pushed the drive in, and that fixed it. I then did that for all the other drives I was trying out, and every one worked. This was after a week and a half of hassle and nothing working like everyone said it should. I hope this info saves someone else some time.

Quality case, unfortunate design of trays, but fixable.
This is a high quality case, but the hard drive trays are a bit flawed: the bottom of the tray is metal, and it's not isolated. Left to its own devices it could touch the bottom of your hard drive, where it'd find the hard drive's PCB. This can be easily fixed by applying some electrical tape to the tray, but IMO, this problem should not exist from the factory - it'd be trivial for the manufacturer to ship the trays pre-isolated. Additionally, the fans are somewhat noisy, however the rear fans can be adjusted to reasonable levels through your motherboard controller. All in all, this is currently the most reasonable option if you need to run more than 14 drives. Also works with the drives "shucked" from external enclosures.

Solid case at a discount, if you don’t mind the wait
Picked this up to run freenas. I was skeptical of the quality of the case given the price but it’s actually pretty well built - all the drives are picked up and my server motherboard, power supply and whatnot all fits. It even has a removable piece to mount another 3.5” drive (but I mounted 2 x 2.5” ssds)It took about 1 month to get here but it was worth the wait - Amazon quoted 30-45 days so it was spot on.

Overall happy, but small difference from pictures
One of the reasons I purchased this over another unit was the tray for the SSD's. The item I received doesn't have that and is different from the pictures.I'll make something myself, but added an unexpected cost and project.Update: have owned this about 10 months now. I love it. Made myself a tray for my u.2 ssd’s that fits right behind the power supply. Can fit 6 easily.Wish I would have gotten this case long ago, would have saved me hassle to just spend the money and go big in the beginning
