We are having the hardest time finding pants for my 8.5 year old, so I was so glad these fit! I ordered them in every color. They are fall/spring weight, so won't be right for cold winters, but they're great right now. My son has outgrown size 8, and apparently pants makers think we don't need size 9... A lot of pants sized 8/10 are too long but still snug in the waist, other pants go from size 8 to size 10/12 which are huge and it's really frustrating. These champion pants in size medium fit like the size 9 I've been needing. I think he's about 4'3" and thicker build, but not husky. Good in the waist and length. Yay! Hope this helps another frustrated parent!

Bought xl for my tall husky 7 year old for room to grow way to big it would be okay if the bottom leg could roll and stay rolled because the waist can be folded and tighten with the string but the bottom legs don’t stay folded it’s a straight fit so legs are to long, I will get Large and see hopefully but quality is nice FYI the grey pants that I thought was red stripe is more of a light grey and it’s orangeUpdate got Large fits my son comfortably now in the waist thighs but still to long I guess with a little stitching one fold will be okay as i think if I get medium will not fit my husky 7 year old
