20 oz water bottle is impossible to drink from. Is there a secret to sucking up from the straw?

i know this is an older question but sometimes if the straw isnt screwed on correctly or one of those connecting parts isnt aligned, it is impossible to drink from. the newer models seem to be cut more precisely so this doesnt happen as much because i have used these bottles for several years and tried a few different variations.

Is the top opening big enough to fill with ice from an ice maker?

Hello there. Thanks for asking. The diameter of our Premium Filtering Water Bottle is 3 inches. We hope you find this information helpful in gauging the size of this product's opening. If you need additional assistance, please contact our team at 800-242-7482 and mention the following reference number: 190703-000730. Thanks. Kai from the Brita team

Does this bottle filter out nitrates?

Great question. While our Insulated Filtered Water Bottle reduces chlorine and class VI particulates, it doesn't reduce nitrates. If you have any additional questions, please give us a call at 800-242-7482 with reference number 230215-000526. We look forward to hearing from you. Alexandrea from The Brita Team

Does anyone else’s straw touch the top of the lid causing the lid to smell?

Thanks for giving our Stainless Steel Water Bottle a try. It's common for the straw to come in contact with the lid, but we wouldn't expect you to experience an odor from the lid. So we can help you out with this, we ask that you please give us a call at 800-242-7482 using reference number 210506-000404. Can't wait to hear from you. Alexandrea from The Brita Team
