interesting book
I found this to be interesting as an interpretation of how this Medium felt and experienced different things in her life.

Uplifting and heartwarming!
I never imagined that I would summarise a book with those words - me, a curmudgeonly old sceptic. A young girl sees spirits and things she cannot explain but receives no help from her family. She is a part of a strict Roman Catholic upbringing and anything to do with spiritualism is regarded as the work of the devil. She joins the RAF as a physical training instructor, gets married and produces children. However, her spiritual awakening continues to grow, she seeks advice and is told she has the potential to become a talented medium. What follows is a fascinating journey as she gradually embraces her talents as a medium and spiritual healer. This is not my usual read and I would have liked a more clinical analysis of the events described but, overall, I found the story both uplifting and heartwarming

Amazing read
Thank you Jane for sharing your experiences and writing about your journey. It's the first time I've read a spiritual book which makes your heart and sole feel hugged. Reading this book makes me realise if the horrible people (that's me putting it nicely) hadn't tried to push me off my career, and they did try so hard for 3 horrible years, I would never have returned to listening to spirit to ask for help and guidance, who directed me to discovering crystals to help me heal. I really enjoyed reading this book so much and I have to admit it's been one of the best I've read by far

I felt drawn
I loved this book, I didn’t look for it I saw it and felt drawn to read it, so one quiet day after having this book for a week, I had a thought to read it.. so I settled down and read it in a day, the title The reluctant medium really resonated with me, this book really helped me make some sense of my own life. Life is up and down and this book has made me think of mediumship again after withdrawing from it all a while ago, and also to build a connection with my spirit guides . maybe just maybe everything that has happened in my life needed to happen just as it has.. I am now 60 and young at heart and a lot more balanced emotionally so who knows what the future will bring . Thank you I enjoyed every aspect of this book it felt real and relatable and funny , and I loved the preachy bits , which I saw as wisdom . An excellent read .

Start of a journey, but lacking substance
I was looking forward to this book. Repetitive in part, and lacking substance. I appreciate some things shouldn’t be discussed but without names, places and specifics linking it to an individual I feel more experiences could have been shared. I will likely read the next book but if much of the same I’ll move to another author.

Nice book!
I really enjoyed this book but the grammar is not great so it was difficult to read and I had to go back and reread parts quite often. The author openly admits she’s not great at writing English and it’s only a small negative in this lovely book. I’d recommend it as it’s a nice personal story and has lots of evidence that proves there’s so much more to this life.

One of the best psychic medium memoirs I've read
Jane's first memoir is fascinating, down-to-earth, and honest. I would highly recommend it to anyone who is interested in the afterlife and psychic mediums, as well as the memoir genre in general. I eagerly await her 3rd memoir, as I read her first two books in this series in record time. It's a wonderful read!
