The Art of Kumomi: Finding Meaning in Randomness

I loved this book
I loved this book. I have no artistic training, and trying Kumomi was a gift for my spirit. The directions were easy to follow, and I was glad to know about the paint and the music. I wouldn't have known what to use otherwise. I am suppose to meditate to relieve health problems, and I found Kumomi to be the best way to relax and be creative.

Huge Ripoff
This is not really a book. It's hardly a pamphlet. I ordered this publication because "Origami Card Craft" is one of my favorite books. This appears to be a giant advertisement for supplies, even the music. Seriously, don't bother.

A Healing Art
Such a gift of healing art. I took the class from Karen yesterday at our local art store. The room was full and we all experienced a wonderful healing art form. The book offers a great overview of the process and is a good guide to have for reference. I, too, came to love art even more as a cancer warrior like Karen. The process allows me to let everything go and just be calm and love what I am doing. I hope to use it in my cancer support projects as another form of Healing Art. Karen is passionate and a wonderful instructor.

I bought this book directly from the author when I took her Kumomi workshop at the Artisan Santa Fe Art Expo. I thought it was wonderful. The simple process she teaches is fun and relaxing. It's a great stress reliever, and you don't need any art experience to have fun and success with her process. The book is small, but that's because this process is so very new. In my opinion. it's a good buy.

I don't agree with Patricia, who found kumomi instruction to be a "huge ripoff." I took Karen's class at Art Unraveled and I was delighted that this art form was something a beginner like me could work on. I bought the book, inks, square papers, tiles and CD, and felt the prices were reasonable and the materials were helpful.
