Must Have for Home Protection
I purchased the YoLink Link Smart Water Leak Protection System Kit with the Bulldog Valve Robot - Smart Valve Controller, two hubs and 7 leak sensors with 15 more leak sensors coming. First and foremost, once setup properly, the leak detection and valve shutoff is impeccable. A must have to protect your home. The installation of the Bulldog Valve Robot was pretty simple and the instructions were ok to good. I downloaded the app and once I fumbled through the setup, naming convention and app layout, it was a breeze. Instructions could be much better. I got all my first 7 leak sensors named and eventually provisioned online and to the app. Getting the hubs provisioned was easy. Getting the Bulldog Valve provisioned and on the app was a bit more difficult but I worked through it. All in all, not terrible. Again, better instructions and step by step would have been great. So...once everything is in the app, named, online/connected via Wi-Fi, the rules engine connecting the leak sensors to the valve and actions taken (shut off valve and notifications) have to be completed. There where no instructions so I called customer support and spoke with Josh. Josh was awesome and my new best friend for about 20 minutes. Josh walked me through on how to set up all the rules engines and connect each leak sensor to the Bulldog valve. Additionally, he emailed me step by step instructions. Like I said, I've got a lot more leak sensors coming so this will be helpful. I tested each of the leak sensors by applying moisture to the tabs and the main valve closed and I received a notification. When this is all said and done, I'll have $350-$400 dollars invested in my YoLink leak detection/water shut off. The savings in homeowners insurance will more than cover the cost. More importantly, if this continues to work and detect leaks and shut off the main before extensive damage, this will save me the deductible for a loss, a lot of repair headaches and insurance rates increasing in the future. The last leak I had resulted in me paying my $2,500 deductible and 10 weeks of repairs including drying out the basement. And that was with the leak occurring for 2-hours. Wish I had this installed before. Final Note: If you have a hot water recirculating pump, you'll need a way to turn off the pump if you are not home. I installed a Leviton outlet that I can turn the power on/off via an app in case I'm not home. I do not want to damage or burn up the recirculating pump. I would highly recommend this product and recommend folks take the time to protect their home! Update 1/23/2024 In connecting your Leak Detector to your Main Valve Shut-Off, you have to go to "Smart", then "Automation", then select the Leak Detector you already named including the "Room" you may have assigned the Leak Detector to. Name the device the same as the name used to set up the device. Then select "When", then select "Water Detected" and Save. Then go to Behaviors and click the + button and select "Close" under the Main Valve Shut Off (this is my name for the valve shut off device). The Save. Click + Behavior again and select Notifications and set up the notification rules (message, notification method/text, email, both). Save. Check for "Behaviors" for the device listed on the App and you should see those Behaviors. Done. Reminder, just because you name the Detector, make up a Room and move the device into the Room and get a Wi-Fi signal on the device, doesn't mean the Leak Detector is connected to the shut-off valve. You have to do the above steps to connect the device/sensor to the shut off valve with Behaviors that drive the action - (a) detect water? - shut off valve (b) detect water? - send notification via email and/or text. 2nd update 1/23/2024 I added a Govee Smart Plug to the Hot Water Heater Recirculating Pump so if the water is shut off due to a leak detection, I can turn off the pump from the Govee App and prevent the pump from burning up/being damaged. Also, I set the pump on a timer within the Govee Smart Plug turning off the pump from 10 pm until 6 am. No need for recirculating hot water in the middle of the night. 3rd Update 1/25/2024 If you have a cleaning service for your home or clean yourself, be sure to remove the leak detection sensors before mopping. Otherwise, the sensor will trigger the main value shut-off. 4th Update Sensor went off last week under the kitchen sink and shut off the main water valve. Couldn't find a leak but checked under the sink and the soap dispenser wasn't tight and water would drip down into the lower sink cabinet. Tightened it and no issues afterwards. small issue but over time can damage the lower cabinet. This morning, the senor in the kitchen sink went off again and shut off the main water valve. checked the hot/cold and found the top nut needed to be tightened. Dripping a little bit of water. Again, enough to damage the cabinets over time and something I would have never detected without YoLink. It also pointed to a bigger issue I need to address - the hot water shutoff valve under the sink is 20-years old and likely needs to be replaced. I'll schedule a plumber to come out and either change the guts or the entire valve. Better safe than sorry. With all the above, my wife and I got the alerts (text & email), the main water valve closed and we addressed the issue requiring only a towel for cleaning. Still delighted with YoLink 5th Update Just added a UPS (battery backup) to the YoLink Main Valve Shutoff (my naming convention - YoLink's Bulldog Valve Robot). Already had a battery backup for our internet/wifi. Also put a UPS on our eero hubs/pucks and YoLink hubs. Likely overkill but want to ensure I've got backups just in case. 6th Update I left the water running in the laundry sink. The Yolink sensor by the Washing Machine and under the sink activated and shut off the water in 12 seconds after overflowing. Got the alert and was able to clean the floor with a towel. But for YoLink, we would have had a lot of water damage. Saved us again. Crazy not to have this in your home.

Works Great and Affordable
The product works just as advertised. I ended up buying sensors for every possible water leak area in my house. It has worked every time I have tripped it and has never had a false positive shutoff. The app is very good. Installation was not very difficult. Just take your time, and make sure you know where the upstream shutoff valve is, just in case something goes wrong. Tip: Add some plastic spacers under the hose clamps to prevent any galvanic corrasion of dissimilar metals. If I was to buy one of these again, I would probably buy the Bulldog version of this. The EVO version works fine, but a lot of torque is needed since it is turning the valve without any handle leverage. Its the same principle as, the longer the handle of a wrench, the easier it is to turn a bolt.

Awesome products!
In this age of cheap Chinese garbage, Amazon junk listings, fly-by-night companies, and generally low quality products, it was a REAL TREAT to come across this company and its products. In fact, this product exceeded my expectations by so much that I was half-expecting something terrible to happen, like it bursting on fire or something similar. Firstly, every one of the products I bought, (shut-off valve, hub, 3 water leak sensors, 2 outdoor temp sensors for freezers, and 2 indoor temp sensors for environmental control), are SOLIDLY MADE. You can feel it in your hand, and it's a feeling that's getting rarer and rarer these days for consumer goods. They're well-made and just SOLID, with absolutely nothing feeling cheap at all. Installation of the shut-off valve was so ridiculously easy I was almost in shock about it. I did have to trim the sprinkler box that my valve was inside, but my multi-tool made short work of the plastic box. (See pics.) I only had slight difficulty with the included band clamps, one of which wasn't manufactured correctly and wouldn't tighten. In fact, fiddling with the large clamp trying to get it to work took more time than anything else I did, including trimming the box! I eventually went with the two smaller clamps, which worked excellently. The whole install took perhaps 30 minutes, including digging out and putting away tools. Perhaps a helpful note - don't try to activate the valve without first pressing on the release button on the bottom of the unit case, the lever won't budge. The rest of the devices went into my freezers, attic, and garage without issue. When I got to the software, that's where I really expected there to be problems, since many of these "smart" companies aren't very smart at all, and they don't seem to test their apps for user-friendliness before releasing them. However, I was amazed at how simple it all really was. Getting the hub online, adding devices to it, creating rooms, configuring alarms, etc, all of it was quick and absolutely painless. The only real quibble I could have, (and it isn't much of one at all), is that the alarm section took a moment to figure out. But within a ridiculously short time I had all the devices added and their operating parameters set. Perhaps another helpful note - when you turn on a device for the first time, give it a full minute to link up to the hub. If you don't, the device will add to the hub but it will show as offline, and won't appear to ever come online. After doing that twice, (adding the device within a few seconds of turning it on), I then waited a few for the rest and they added without issue. All of my testing, (temperatures turning on fans and heaters, water leaks activating the valve, etc), all passed with flying colors. All in all, this just feels like money well spent, and YoLink has become one of my favorite companies. Highly recommend.

Great peace of mind for rental properties (and now my own home)
I purchased this automatic water shutoff valve and water sensors for a rental property after dealing with a major issue caused by renters exceeding the allowed number of occupants and overflowing the septic system. I wanted an early warning system that could alert me if water was present in critical areas like the utility room or around bathroom sinks before serious damage occurred. Setup was straightforward. The sensors were easy to install and quickly connected to the hub, and they’ve maintained a solid connection throughout the house. One concern I had was whether the shutoff valve would work properly, since the main water valve has hard water buildup and visible rust. I was pleasantly surprised—it worked perfectly and had no problem fully shutting off the water when triggered. The system has given me real peace of mind, especially for a rental where you can’t always control how the home is used. I’ve been so impressed with the performance and reliability that I ended up buying the same system for my own house as well. So far, everything has worked exactly as advertised. Highly recommended for homeowners and landlords who want added protection against water damage.

Very nice Product
This was well worth the investment. I now has the ability to "watch" over all my water use areas and it alerts me and also shuts down the water if any leak is detected. I have also recommended this to several other individuals. This was an easy install and I believe works best with a brass ball valve with handle. A pvc valve has a different handle style and they also get stiff and harder to shut off over time, just my observations.

Water sensors are sensitive and the bulldog valve works great when installed correctly
The bulldog motor is relatively easy to setup and fit the pipe perfectly and the water sensors work great. They do not have a speaker though so the only notification will be through the app. When setting up the bulldog valve, follow the instructions carefully. There may be some steps where if you're not careful, you might install it incorrectly - unknowingly. It'll still look right but won't turn the valve consistently. It seems to struggle a little with a tight lever but seems to work fine so far.

Great investment to prevent flooding
The design is clever, easy to put on, they provide a few option for different size of existing shutoff valve. No cutting or soldering need. Good range connect to hub and wifi. As long as it near an outlet to power it up, it works great. Supper accurate, as soon as water leak detect, the valve almost instantly shut off the water. Be sure the Yolink valve is open and the existing valve also open position so you don't damage anything.

Effective device for shutting off water in the event of a leak. Makes traveling much less stressful.
Why did you pick this product vs others?: I first ordered the YoLink which moves the handle on the water main valve, but it wasn’t strong enough. I returned it and got this one which mounts directly to the valve (once you remove the handle). This one works great. I have a computer engineering background, so set up was pretty straight forward for me. If you don’t, you can still use this, but you’ll need to read the instructions to ensure you “bind” the water-sensing pucks to the WiFi-base station and the actuator. There are three electrical components for this: Device controller (which plugs into the valve mounted motor), base station (which requires a direct internet connection and WiFi access to your existing network) and the water sensing pucks themselves. You will also need to download and sign into the YoLink phone app. I found if I opened everything on my work bench, lined everything up, scanned the QR codes in order, named everything you can get through the setup pretty fast. You’ll need to do some exploring in order to make the valve shut off immediately when the pucks sense water as the default mode seems to be “alert me”. I wanted the valve to close the instant water was detected. The system is capable of this, but you’ll need to “program” this feature. All in all, traveling is less worrisome knowing if there’s a leak somewhere in the house, the water will shut itself off.
