Taylor Replacement Reagent Refill Kits - Basic Refill Kit - 2 oz.

I’m am quite happy with this reagent refill pack. No issues and the price was right as they say. The bottles are bigger than what comes with the kit so these don’t fit in the nice case, but that doesn’t matter to me as I knew they were bigger. Taylor makes great products, I will continue to use them. I highly recommend their test kits and refills for pools and hot tubs.

Local pool store wanted 3x the price.

Our test kit was running low on the basic reagents right as pool season kicked off, so I ordered this refill kit rather than replacing the whole test kit again like we did last time when just one bottle ran dry. Made way more sense cost-wise and saved us from throwing out a perfectly good kit box. Bottles dropped in as a direct match for our existing Taylor kit, no issues with dosage or reaction color being off from what we're used to. Been testing chlorine and pH a couple times a week all summer and results have been consistent and easy to read against the color chart, no fading or weird cloudiness in the reagent itself like I've had with off-brand refills before. 2 oz size seems to be lasting well, were only about a third through the bottles after a few months of regular testing for our in-ground pool. Caps seal tight too so I'm not worried about evaporation or contamination sitting in the pool shed through the hot months. Only minor thing is the dropper bottles are a little finicky to squeeze consistent single drops from when their brand new, took some getting used to compared to our older worn-in bottles. Good value over buying a whole new kit, would reorder again next season.

Product works as expected. However, if you’re using the Taylor K-1005 Test Kit, be aware that the pH reagent R-0004 is not compatible with the color comparator included in that kit. For clarity, the “color comparator” is the plastic vial with the color blocks used to read pH and chlorine levels. The K-1005 kit comes with reagent R-0014 for pH testing, which produces a completely different color scale than R-0004. As a result, if you try to use R-0004 with the K-1005 comparator, your pH readings will be significantly off. Lesson learned—hopefully this helps someone avoid the same mistake.
