Perfect for bringing life back to a pair of old R9 390 video cards
I bought 4 different thicknesses of these and followed a tutorial on Youtube where a guy was able to bring life back to the same video card I was working on. Before doing this (and using Grizzly Kryonaut thermal paste where needed) I was running anywhere from 80-95c temps and getting throttling, even with the settings turned down. At best idling was around 75c. When doing anything that required hardware acceleration it was getting pretty bad. I needed to do something to these cards.I looked at all the options that were on Amazon and looked at what people rated the best and what people said on various forums and Reddit and found that this seemed to be the choice, so I went with it. I found that cutting it with a razor knife was best, and found that you have to be careful with the thinner versions of this, the .5mm and 1mm thickness ones. The 1.5mm and 2mm thick are pretty easy to handle. Also, measure twice and cut once. Make sure to have a good clean environment when working with it and make sure to have something under it if cutting with a razor knife like I did. It goes on pretty easily and the thicker stuff is easy enough to reposition without it falling apart. After using this the video cards idled in the low 40s C and even under heavier use only got to around 70c. They are much more quiet now since I don't have the fans hitting max speed under any kind of load at all. Well worth the price to get video card temps back under control.

Saved my 3080 from overheating.
After 4 years with my RTX 3080, it started crashing when playing very graphic intensive games. I thought the card was literally cooked beyond repair, but a last suggestion online pointed to re-padding and pasting everything. Pulling off the heatsink and fans, I realized the factory pads were not only falling apart, the factorty applied the pads covering only 50% of the VRAM chips. Properly applied Gelid Ultimate and some good thermal paste on the GPU die. Not only did this fix the crashing issues, but I was able to overclock the card by 15% with cooler temps! Thank you Gelid!

Gelid is the best
They are the best period. Only wish they had .25 difference pads. Or GPU manufacturers only use .5 differential.

Excellent thermal pad material
Pro: This thermal pad material works wonderful. Removing OEM installed thermal pads and replacing with Gelid material reduced heat by 16C.Con: Gelid Ultimate was ordered and Gelid Extreme was sent by mistake… only a few dollars difference.

Misleading Packaging.
Ultimate box, not ultimate pads. They're so dry a layer of the pad peeled off on both sides of the protective plastic. Box must have hit hard in transit because about 20% of the pad on the side I didn't cut from is separating from itself and so dry it crumbles. Spend the money and get a sheet from Kritical.

Really great thermal pads
While overkill, these are being used to cool some NVMEs in a bifurcation card. The cards stock pads were absolute trash and the SSDs were going up to 70c during heavy writes. Post install, the NVMEs are in the mid-40s to low 50s during heavy writes

This stuff works and works very well! -20 degree C or more...
I've seen some people post before/after temps after applying these thermal pads, but until you see it yourself, it's easy to be suspicious. I went from 100-110 C, which thermal throttling and problems on two dozen cards doing Ethereum mining and now my cards are 70-45 C with the same overclocking settings. Now I can even push the GPUs much harder, and they run at 80-85 C. These pads REALLY work...
