Compact and light, good for a small camper
I've used this toaster for a couple years in a camper conversion. The small size makes it easy to stow and the wide slot will toast a sliced bagel or thick waffle just fine.I've had no problem plugging it into a 120VAC 2000W PSW inverter, but it uses about 700W at that voltage level. (Checked it with a Kill-A-Watt)The darkness adjustment knob has six settings, but usually between 1 and 3 gets the job done. The toaster clamps the bread/bagel/waffle and holds it in the middle of the slot so both sides get done evenly.I like it, but not sure if I would buy it again. Expensive if you don't really need the space savings.TIP: to interrupt the toasting cycle don't push the handle up; instead turn the darkness knob to 0 (Zero) and the toaster will pop up and shut off.

I can only get a burnt piece of toast from this item.
I purchased one a couple years ago, (and loved it!) but a family member broke it. I purchased another one. However, the new toaster's only setting seems to be "burnt!" Is there an issue with US vs Japan voltage on this toaster? It does say on the box - only for use in Japan! Never saw this before and why would it be sold to American households? Please advise. Is there an adapter I need?
