Q: Does the game board have the original plastic bottom, or just the cardboard as is apparent in the "new" version sold at Walmart/Target?

I also found the one we bought for the kids when they were young ,I'm 70. it has l cardboard bottom the top is plastic on both of them

Q: How sturdy is it? Most of the old games we remeber as kids are now poorly made from inferior materials. Is this?

The game is basically a one piece plastic mold that feels very sturdy, I don't think you could accidentally damage it

Q: Is this game different from the $15 dollar one?

It is not as well constructed as the original. Mine arrived with broken parts in the game board.

Q: What is the size of the playing board

I gave it as a gift so I don't have it in front of me. I would guess it to be 12x12.
