The Purolator Boss filter is the best on the market from various testing found online. This oil filter fits perfectly, has great longevity, fantastic value for the money, cleans the oil well, and does it's job functionally.

Running royal purple oil with this filter. Its heavy duty construction, synthetic media glass fibers filters very effectively. filters the oil. I change oil once a year and it still looks like honey!!!

I have a 2013 Hyundai Accent 1.6l 4cyl and it is particular about oil filters. Even if the product says it is compatible there is still issues such as, excessive vibrations and audible noises. Even the K&N filters didn’t work well. Later, figured out only a few work; OEM obviously, FRAM’s full synthetic lineup, and PUROLATER’s line of regular(red) and BOSS(Black) oil filters. I’d imagine PUROLATOR ONE(blue) would work. Runs like normal now! I like brands that aren’t so in your face like FRAM but if it works it works.

I am a long time Purolator oil filter buyer. Normally I get the PureONE oil filters from Purolator, but since I got a new to me 2017 WRX I decided that it would not be a bad idea to spend a few extra dollars to get the best protection that synthetic media provides. If you want an in-depth oil filter comparison MrSubaru on Youtube has a good albeit long video on different manufacturers.That said I was disappointed to see that the oil filter dimensions are significantly different when compared to the OEM Subaru oil filter. This oil filter is narrower and a bit taller. I originally thought that I was sent the incorrect filter, but verified on the Purolator website that this was the correct filter for the WRX engine. I was concerned that on the new Subaru engines that since the oil filter is mounted on top of the engine it may be too tall for the hood to close without damaging the hood. I did some test fits using a sponge on top of the filter and trying to close the hood gently to see if it would rub. The good news is that it does not hit the hood, though it looks like it could at first glance.I plan to add neodymium magnets to the oil filter for extra protection against engine wear.

Having performed my due diligence, I believe this is the best spin-on filter on the market. Recommended by Purolator for synthetic oil use, results of actual use reviews and Purolator's spec sheet have made this my go-to spin-on filter.

This works well with Full Synthetic oils. I use this for my 96 Subaru Outback with nearly 300k miles. I paired it with Castrol Edge 5W30. I did a reseal rebuild on the engine about 5 years ago, and the only spot with a leak is the O ring on my oil fill spout which I missed in that rebuild. This is keeping my engine running smoothly and strong, with the oil choice that is. Honestly, Edge was just cheaper as of getting this filter as well, and I use any full syn GF-5 or 6 with a good price.

I have been a Purolator filter user since the 1980s. I now use synthetic oil in my passenger cars and want a quality filter to go with it. My 2011 Fiesta now has over 250k miles. You tell me if a little extra for a filter is worth it. I buy online in advance to always have my filters ready at 10k. Cheaper than the corner auto stores, and most don't carry Purolator anyway.
