Was so excited when they arrived that, I got out my drill & went to work.
I am a lucky lady to have my own drill, but also my husband has a drill press. In my opinion both ways are easy, & yes the drill press makes it a bit easier, also I can set up a plastic bin & fill it with water & then put the container I am going to work on in the water, let it fill up with water, & to just barley cover the side/ bottom of it where ever I will be working & putting my hole/holes.{I do this with the drill & the drill press} as this helps to keep my container cool (inside & out) as well as my drill bit cool, ( I think this helps my bits to last longer) I find it is also better as I get started to lightly raise & lower the bit just slightly (when using the drill press) not even enough to notice really, but this allows the water to just get in there perfect, & also helps for me to actually feel as the bit is about to go thru so I am able to back off in time so I don't allow the glass, ceramic, etc. to get bumped by the drill press or the drill as the hole is completed. {which ever I am using at the time, also my husband only allows me to use the drill press when he is home, for safety reasons} I learned not to just mark where to put the hole but to put a piece of masking tape, duct tape & black tape works too (yes even in water, just add it after cleaning surface with alcohol, let air dry,) & with the hand drill start at a 45 degree angle for just few seconds as soon as the groove has started hold drill upright. The tape really makes a difference to keep the bit from walking all over in the beginning,( oh & don't forget to remove any stickers.. They will cause your tape to come off.) These bits I found looking on amazon, going off reading all the reviews from others who bought them, & bought them from that info alone. I didn't know anything about these kind of bits before that day or any others, but I will certainly buy them again, recommend them to family & friends. I have used all but one of the different sizes several times, to the point I had to go to the thrift store to buy some stuff to start on Glass Yard Art that I seen done on you-tube & now can't wait to make lots of my own. BTW I have still been using the 1st & so far only set that I bought & own, & they are still working like new. I will be buying them again from the same seller, since my husband told me today of a great idea for X-Mas gifts for the family & for me to make & us to use during the holidays. Sounds like he will be keeping me busy, doing something so easy thanks to a great set of bits, the DIY's are endless. BTW when he gets home will have him take some pictures to post on here using the drill press on a few different types of planting pots, & even a few thick bottles with rough surfaces, also with my drill to see it might help you to understand it, rather than reading about it.. Happy Drilling... Enjoy & hope some of this helps you all stay busy. There are endless possibilities with these bits in your drills..

works really well
I got these hoping to be able to drill some holes through some bottles. they worked great in only took a minute and the hole was complete. I had to drill through about 1"of glass the other day to try to make a lamp. I really wasn't sure how the drill bit would hold up I ran water over the glass to keep the bit cool I don't know if your supposed to do that or not but someone told me that you should. And in no time I was through and no nicks or chips. i was very impressed. and the bit seem to be just fine. I have paid a lot more for other bits like this and they seemed to have the rough little peace's fall of pretty fast. So I was impressed when I looked at the bit and it r the looked 100% in tact after going about 1" into this glass. Great deal for the price.

Great Value!
These are not the most durable, but I will say that the price and effectiveness outweighs the longevity. For the cost of this set, getting through even one project successfully with one of the bits is a boon. I have used two sizes to drill out glued in knock down joints on 20 holes. That bit is looking worse for wear but no hole saw gave me the perfect size and roundness for the hole. It was so effective that I was able to buy and use a slightly wider (1mm) dowel plug and get a tight fit. I was able rebuild 2 cabinets with one bit. Couldn't ask for more. Still have a handful left after the job. Great.

Works great with a few little tricks
Great for drilling holes in the bottom of plantes-- much faster than regular drill bits. I have used these on plastic, metal, clay, glazed clay, thicker concrete-type planters, and they have worked everytime. I usually can get through the bottom of the planter in less than a minute. I place the planter on the ground, if large/safe enough I grip it between my feet, fill the bottom with enough water to provide cooling and collect the dust, and start the drill at an angle. Once there is a deep enough groove, I'll hold the drill to drill straight through. I have a plastic tub that the pot sits in the catch the water and protect the ground/floor if I'm doing it inside. Holding the drill at an angle was the trick for me because with the larger-sized circles, it's hard to keep the drill head in one place and it just goes in circles around the bottom of the pot. Starting at an angle creates enough of a "groove" to keep it in place when you hold the drill directly straight and push it down while drilling. I've only use one size a couple times but haven't seen any wear on the head of the bit.

Smaller diameter hole saws work better than the larger diameter ones.
I purchased these to drill holes in my glass back splash and found the larger size hole saws (16 mm and up) were unable to drill the holes. I followed the instructions using a low speed drill, angling the drill and hole saw bit at a 45 degree angle and oscillating the tool while cutting and constantly applying water to the surface I was drilling with a spray bottle. Unfortunately the larger hole saws constantly kept skipping and were unable to drill the hole. I was forced to purchase a more expensive Milwaukee brand diamond hole saw and that perfectly cut the hole with no problems whatsoever. I will say that the smaller diameter hole saws (6 mm -10 mm) did work much better and I was able to drill these holes reasonably well and that is why I gave this 3 stars. One other thing to mention is that these hole saw bits have a little oval circle on the side to excavate the drilled material out of it but for the larger size bits it would seem very difficult to remove this material. I say this because the Milwaukee brand diamond hole has a huge semi cylindrical hole and getting the drilled material out of that was a little difficult, so I imagine that these bits with the tiny little oval slot circle would be much more difficult to remove any drilled material that got stuck inside.
