The design is slightly different than pictured. But works well.If the remote malfunctions, is damaged or lost, there's not a straightforward way to connect a wired remote. And as per research, and confirmed by other reviews, they don't make is easy to find another for purchase.I question the design that a red light stays on the unit, even when remote is turned off. It has to be unplugged or the electric circuit has to be turned off.I will say, one big plus is the remote reached over 700 feet.

Worked as it should have at first, than after warranty is up it craps out and no one wants to help.

I purchased this one for utilizing attic space. The plastic casing for the remote receiver came broken (it’s not sturdy) and the motor sounds too loud. I contacted the customer service department, and their reply was that I should not use continually to prevent any damage to the motor. First, I didn’t misuse the machine, and the motor sounds awful at the beginning of use. I requested additional support but no response yet. Not happy with this product. I was expected to see Taiwan product instead of made in China.

Just got it and no damage. It seems to work, but haven't got to put a load on it yet.

Good quality, heavy winch. Remote control works good. My winch is mounted ten feet up. The remote is very handy. Would definitely recommend this winch.
