Custom install
This item requires patients to install and careful measurements. Turned out really nice at the end with a bigger handle to open and close than other pocket door handles.

The instructions suck.
There is no template included. No measurements in the instructions. If the return window was not closed this would sent back.

Could not install – no instructions
This item came with no instructions for installation at all, plus it was missing parts that connected to the other side of the door frame. It’s a nice looking unit but worthless. If you cannot install it or figure out how to install it or even get all of the components to install it, it’s useless. I would not buy this unit again and would not recommend it.

Nice lock and good instructions now
Looks good and works as expected. Most notably it actually included instructions and a template contrary to earlier reviews.

Isn’t easy to install
Installing this was extremely difficult and it is very hard to unlock from the other side.

Too wide for pocket doors, no pulls to pull out if opened all the way.
This was sooo close to being a great product. Ignore those who talk about it being hard to install - EVERY mortise lock pocket door is hard to install, cheap or expensive. I've done several. That's not the issue. This review is for the "privacy" lock - lockable but no key.The good:The metal is solid, so long as everything is lined up EXACTLY the lock works nice and smooth, and it's really attractive. The bad:The templates are not quote the right size. The door handles on both sides are not designed to sit flat on the door - it shaped to bulge OUTWARD, so once assembled on the door it's a lot thicker than just the metal-of-handle + door - and it don't look great if you recess the whole thing as the curve to the metal means there's weird hollows in the door once recessed. If NOT recessed, then the door ends up being too wide for standard pocket door frames. Additionally, there's no built in pull to get the door back OUT of the pocket door track if it's been pushed all the way in. There are separate parts you can buy to let you pull the door out again (example: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CCLF24R9), but multiple metal inserts really takes away from the clean look. Also (though this is a minor gripe), because it's not designed to sit flush on a standard width door, to recess it to actually fit in the pocket door frame you need to cut some metal pieces inside shorter than they come. They're designed to be cut - they've different width cut marks to help - but you special tools to do it. I am lucky that I had an angle grinder available and knew how to use it, but not all people do.This would probably work great for a barn door, but it doesn't work for a pocket door as it is now.If a couple of changes were made by the manufacturer, though, this could be a VERY lovely product.

What an upgrade!
We live this lock! I was concerned it would be difficult to engage or clunky once installed but it hides away easily and even my four year old can turn it without problem.

this is TINY
You see the picture, and you think that's a hand grip. Nope. Two fingers, at best. This kit is flimsy and yes, it was cheap, but it's built cheap as well. Spend more money. I should have, but I was inpatient.
