Really nifty but not silent!
I loved that it was pink, and the pause button is cool. But this timer is NOT silent. It's quiet, but if you have it next to you on your desk you will clearly hear it ticking. If you're not the kind of person bothered by ticking while you're focusing then you'll be fine. But if it can be yet another distraction to you, try another brand.Even with my music right next to me I can still hear it. I'm bummed it's not silent but it will work for now.

Perfect my ADHD family!
I really like this clock and it does what it says. The only thing I am bummed about is that the countdown screen is not pink like pictured but red.

Noticeable ticking noise, great pause feature
The pause feature on this timer is just fantastic (and not available on many competing products I have researched). However, out of two of these that I ordered, one makes a very noticeable ticking sound which is a deal breaker for the situation in which it is used. I'm worried the other one might develop that ticking sound also over time, but I'm hoping for the best and I do love the one that operates silently. For my fellow hair-splitters: even the "silent" one of the two I ordered makes a tiny tiny ticking noise and you can hear it if you press your ear right up against it. So there is indeed an internal ticking mechanism. But at arm's length that "ticking" is not noticeable even in a completely quiet room (which is where I use it).

Disappointing
Literally does not work. Once you move the timer it stays in place. This product is basically a play toy. I do not recommend this. AT ALL.

Visual representation of time helps kids value time 👍🏼
I bought this timer to work with my grandchildren on learning how long segments of time are in real life situations. My 6 year old grandson quickly grasped the connection between the abstract words “15 minutes” and how long it actually takes for 15 minutes to elapse. He could easily see that 55 minutes was a longer time and 5 minutes wasn’t the eternity he thought it was.The timer uses batteries to make the beeps that indicate that time is up. The beeper can be set to beep for three seconds or one minute. There is a button on the top that lets you silence the timer. I am careful not to let the kids play with it. If you were to turn it backwards it could break per the instructions. I have shown my oldest grandson how to use it teaching him why it should not be wound backwards. He is being responsible with it. My younger grandchildren would need more supervision. It is fun to use, but it isn’t a toy.The visual timer is very quiet when running, but It does have an almost imperceptible tick. I have sensitive hearing yet this timer doesn’t irritate me. If I were to place it a little further away than right in front of me I would not be able to hear it. My grandson doesn’t notice any noise. He likes it right in front of him. He enjoys giving himself more time if he needs it when working on his homework. That is exactly the outcome I had hoped for! 🙌🏼 😉

Glad I got the one with the snooze button
Excellent for my homeschool kiddos that take forever to do work (mainly because they want to doodle about the lesson rather than do it) also great for dawdling through teethbrushing, chores, eating, showers, etc. Far better results than digital timers in getting my kids to stay on time. The concept of time is so hazy as children they have no idea how long 5 minutes is, and this helps so much. The other part I love about this is it's virtually silent, if you get your ear within a foot of the clock and everything's silent you could hear it, but no ADD or nonADD people for that matter should be bothered by its sound unless you're sitting in a completely silent room making no noise of your own maybe. The alarm is the sound of a fire alarm yes, but not nearly as loud as one. Glad I splurged for one that let me shut off the alarm immediately rather than having to wait for it to stop. Very lightweight, not as in being cheap, but if you drop it one too many times on the ground I'd bet that would be a problem, it's not meant to be a rugged take a beating item, so no playing hot potato with it, but unless you intend to keep dropping it on the floor, I don't see what the people fussing in reviews over its lightweightedness were expecting--it's plastic. The sounds of the ticking sounds are uniformly one second long when I compared it to a digital timer.

Stopped working after 3 weeks
This timer has been a game change with getting my kid to focus on morning/evening routines and meal times. It's easy to use. However, I'm really sad that it stopped working after only three few weeks. My child, who is in Kindergarten, was really careful when using the timer, as was I, to not ever move the hand counter-clockwise past the zero. So not sure what happened. Changed the batteries which made the timer "beep", so it definitely has power, but it did not help. The internal mechanism stopped working so the minutes hand doesn't move. I'm pretty sure I saw this as a complaint for one or two people when reading the reviews before purchasing, and so I knew to be careful with how to turn the timer button. Very disappointing. I'll see if I can return it. I also bought a second one a week after the first because it was working so great, but now we'll see if this one stops working as well when using daily.

Don't Let Time Slip Away!
Great and user-friendly timer! This analogue visual timer has a high and a low beep volume switch on the back. The high sound is clearly discernable from a good distance; the low volume is still plenty loud to grab your attention, but not too annoyingly loud if you're sitting right in front of it. You can either chose the 6-beep or the 60-beep (ew) option. What I love best, though, is that it has a nice long stop button on the top that allows me to immediately cut off the beep (I hate noisy things in general). Other than when it is beeping, this timer is completely silent! Overall, I'm really happy with this timer and would definitely recommend it to anyone.

Useful!
Seems to help our child stay on task. It's cute, a good size, and easy to set, reset, and pause. It's going to be used in a classroom, so I opened it up and cut the speaker wires to make it silent. That was easy enough to do, but I wish that there were a built-in option for silent operation.

NOT Silent. There is a ticking noise. It's faint, but it's there.
