Q: Will this work with a monitor plug that plugs in horizontally?

I'm not quite sure what you mean by this question, but I can tell you that there isn't a lot of room inside the box. Standard plugs fit just fine, grounded extension cord plugs fit with some difficulty. Plugs with those converter blocks on them do not fit at all.

Kaitlynn, From examinig the item, it looks like you should be able to get some of the thicker cords into it.

The cover locks into place and provides a good deal of space inside to protect even most larger plugs. Will not cover plugs with large power adapter bases though. It is also fairly well built, as the description does say. I have it behind a heavy item that does occasionally bang into it and it does not pop unlocked and has not broken. What else is it that you'd like to know?

Rectangle? How many outlets? Take your regular faceplate and put it over the one you are referring to. If it fits over that, it'll fit over the rectangular one you are asking about. The cover is rectangular. Hope that helps.
