Have a window in your car?? Then you need to purchase these!!
After the early morning crash here in Charleston, SC, that caused the drowning deaths of 3 adults & a dog, it really alarmed us. They were ALL locals who were avid fishers & boaters, yet, sadly, they all perished in the water of a deep creek off the Stono River right near a marina.. Here in Charleston, we are very "land-limited" being right off the Atlantic ocean, nestled among major deep water rivers that access our ports. In addition we're surrounded by lots of barrier islands, marshes, tidal creeks, lakes, and more. This summer like every summer we've also heard about the deaths of many children being left in hot, unattended cars. So, this purchase was LONG overdue. Like my hand gun, it's another device for safety that I pray I never have to use. Love the fact that it's glow in the dark (DON'T put in your glove box as it wont't glow). The 2-pack was a bargain price compared to e price of one so I highly recommend getting the 2-pack. Even if you only need one, there's someone out there that could use it.. I purchased the 2-pack for my husband & myself. We're both real estate brokers & spend about 80% of our time on the road here where we are covered with bridges and navigating above the water on any given day!!

Great value for something I hope I'll never need
Great value for something I hope I'll never need! I can't figure out what the heck that white round cover is for. Doesn't seem to be a mounting hole for screws. Anyone have any ideas? Also, the hammer itself feels very...light. Not that I expected it to be too hefty, but if I ever do have to use it I wonder if it's actually strong enough...

Car mounting instructions for this would have been helpful and pragmatic because of its purpose.
Very useful to have in the car. I bought several, so that each of my cars have this. I just need to figure out how to secure attach these on the outside of the console. I watched a video of a car impacting the water. During impact, object in the car shift. If there is damage, it can prevent someone from opening the glove compartment and if the LifeHammer is stored there, well it would suck and defeat the purpose. I need to find out how to attach this onto the console near my leg, without damaging any potential wires. I was thinking about using command strips, but in the Arizona heat, the adhesive would just melt it no time.

Know what type of windows you have!
Make sure you know what type of windows you have in your car! My new car has laminated windows in the front; so I’ve got this device in the back seat where the windows are tempered. These devices work perfect on tempered glass. Even though I’ve only got tempered glass in the rear windows, I did decide to put a 2nd device in the front because of the seatbelt cutter.

Great piece of mind
Bought 6 of these (3 sets) to put in my and my husband's cars as well as both our daughters and their husbands' cars. Very easy to figure out and fit in glove compartment or center console easily. Hopefully we will never need them but very reassuring that they are there if needed.
