The outer is 3in(w)X4in(L). The inside 1.5in(w)X2.5in(l). But you have to remember it is oval (egg shape) shape the inside's and the outside

Can these headphones be used to aid in hearing the television?

If your television has a Bluetooth connection they would be a wonderful choice. My mother has hearing aids and has trouble hearing the television. She purchased the version with a cord because her television does not have a Bluetooth connection.

Is it a metal wire headband or plastic headband?

The headband itself feels like a durable flexy plastic strip encased in a cushy foam, wrapped in a premium feeling faux leather. At each side of the band there are hard plastic nubs that attach the sliding metal bits on the ear cups, the wire to the cup also passes through here on each cup. They are also hinged at this point to make folding and carrying easier.

Great for the gym or just relaxing..

Have had them for 20 minutes and already ordered 2 more. Sound quality is better than what you'd expect from such lightweight headphones. Bass is ok but if bass intense music is what you're into then these won't be worth it. Blues, metal & country good. These will be good for the gym since they are lightweight and comfortable and stay put. My only complaint is the beep when you max out the volume. Its just annoying and not needed.
