What color is this splitter? (picture shows black, description says white

The item is black, as shown in the Amazon image. The write-up says Color: white, but I received the product and it is black, except for the chrome colored connector ends.

Can you connect at internet coming into house & run each line to its own router.? Can each router work indepedantly at the same time?

Yes. The problem is more can those two devices work at the same time? This type of splitter may not be able to handle the combined data flow. But if you only use one de ice at a time, it should work.

Nice Idea, Too Bad It Didn't Work...

This did NOT work in my configuration. One PC and one Mac mini, sharing one gig ethernet connection. I would ONLY have one device powered up at a time. With the splitter in place, I was NOT able to get the connection to seamlessly switch between devices, the only way to get it to work was to disconnect one of the patch cables, which defeats the purpose of having this splitter. Maybe this might work in SOME applications, but it failed completely in mine...

Works great for the project i wanted to do... As i wanted to be able to use 2 different computers on just one connection (not at the same time .. But it is great not to have to connect from each time that way i can go from one computer to the other one easily without changing any cables)

Didn't do what I hoped they would.

These probably are just what you might need to split ethernet system from one to two going in one specific direction. However, they didn't work for what I wanted. Extra parts hanging around now.
