Feels sturdy and seems to help with room noise a bit, although I had hoped for a liiittle better result. Im using an mxl 990 cheapo condenser that is very "noisy" and I was hoping this would quell the problem. Definitely helped, but the blame is on the mic. That being said.. Satan himself designed the assembly. Placing nuts in small crevices you cant see or reach, held in place by nothing while putting the screw in, just kinda floating around hoping you hit the threads. When you adjust it it makes a loud plastic *SNAP* sound that made me think I broke it. I was a Lego fiend who graduated to IKEA furniture and kept climbing that mountain. I love putting stuff together. Idk why, but i do. I did not enjoy this one bit. Show me someone who put this together in under 24 hours without the use of profanity, and I will show you a LIAR! In all seriousness, it was pretty difficult to put together. Had I assembled these before, im sure I could've gotten it done in a reasonable amount of time, but snapping 5 pieces of plastic together took me over an hour. Thought I could tackle it on my lunch break, but nooooooohohoho. Lotta dropping nuts, lotta swearing, lotta looking up at the sky asking deep questions - most of which starting with the word, "Why?" Ultimately, im glad I got it, you should too, but you have been warned that it's a pain to put together if you have never done one before. There is absolutely NO reason that this had to be designed this way for assembly and I have NO idea who thought it was a good idea to make the customer struggle so. For real... I can't wrap my mind around who and why it was designed this way for assembly. BUT it's assembled and has been tested successfully. I am not remorseful of my purchase. I would estimate it blocked out about 30% of the room noise for my noisy mic.
