I have been having a blast working through the patterns in this book to make a patchwork blanket from some scrap yarn! The attached image is some of my first unblocked squares arranged in a possible blanket pattern.As someone who has only been crocheting for a few months, this book was my introduction to crochet blocks and to reading both written and visual stitch patterns. Everything about how the patterns are presented is excellent - clear instructions, beautiful images, and useful tips. The introductory and appendix materials are incredibly helpful as well. The amount and variety of blocks included is also excellent, covering many of the classic quilt squares you would expect plus including some other fun ideas and variations. I haven't tried any of the included projects, but they also look very nice.The only issue I've had working with this book has been that my gauge seems to be very different from the author's and I've had to adjust some of the patterns to use a different block's stitch pattern. In other words, I have needed to combine some of the patterns in the book together into my own frankenpattern to get a result that works better for me. I think it's a strength of the book that I've been able to use it to do so successfully.Overall, I highly recommend this book if you're interested in learning how to crochet quilt-inspired blocks!

It’s taken me a while to use this due to other projects but it doesn’t disappoint! This is not my first book by Leonie and I’m sure won’t be my last. Instructions are the best I’ve ever used and the patterns/projects awesome. Can’t praise this enough. Thank you. X

Fresh, new, unusual, colourful eye-popping designs. Easy to do, one block at a time.

This book is well written & easy to understand, despite my preference for US terms as it also contains charts.
