Works well on both older and higher quality rusting tools
I decided to try WD-40 Rust Remover Soak on some very old tools from my Grandfather that I recently "rediscovered" after having them for over 60 years. I picked out some that I would not soak in WD-40 RRS (poor resolution picture on left) so I could compare the results with the pieces I did soak overnight (picture on right). All the tools started out very rusty-- but not pitted or stained. I was very happy with the soaked items. After some work with Scotch-Brite scour pads, they looked better than I had hoped. And the soak did not damage any of the wooden handles. The old axe looked ready to use. After that experience, I used the rest of the gallon to soak some of my own rusty screwdrivers, drillbits, files, pliers, and an old hammer head. The results were good, but not spectacular. What I found is that the better quality the tool, the better the result. A number of the cheapy tools picked up a black stain that was hard to remove. I rated this product a 5. It has no fumes, is totally biodegradable, and did not damage my hand or any other non-rusting materials. It delivers exactly what it promises: slowly removing mild to moderate rust. [If you look carefully at both pictures you will see little hooks like the ones your Great Grandfather used to lace his Spats.]

Incredibly Easy To Use
I've been using this to strip rust off of old hand planes. This stuff works pretty great. What's really nice is that it has no odor, rinses off with water, and you _can_ use your bare hands when handling it (gloves are never a bad thing though). It says that you should just leave your part in there for a couple hours to get it cleaned off with a maximum of 24 hours. This is true. Even if you still have rust on your part, remove the part and clean & dry it. I left one part in for 48 hours because of the extreme nature of the rust and it got the rust off but then began to etch the bare metal underneath. It took all the rust, all the patina (which is just different rust), and all the luster out of the surface metal. This can be polished back to shiny or even electroplated, but just not leaving it in that long on a single go will avoid that. When I was done with the soak, I got a big funnel and a coffee filter and poured the remover back in the jug. It worked just was well the second and third use. I know, chemically, this won't last forever but it is certainly not a one & done product.

Amazing
This is great stuff . Kind of pricy and limited usage if you're soaking a lot of surface area. But works quickly and does a great job. If you compare this to all the hours you would have to spend to remove rust from all the surfaces, is definitely worth it's weight in gold. I soaked a large number of antique metal parts with hard to get to surfaces and it did a much better job than I could have ever done by hand without leaving scratches. I can see myself using this a lot in the future.

Decent results, but I expected better
Used it immediately when I got it. Soaked a combination square in the solvent for about 12 hours. It removed most of the rust but not all. This product came highly recommended from a YouTube I watch frequently, however I got different results than they did on the video.

Great Buy
I purchased this to remove rust on some of my dad's old tools. Depending on the level of rust, you can leave it in for 30 minutes to an hour, or 24 hours. Just make sure you use a ventilated area.

⭐️⭐️⭐️ Good, works fairly well @ Surface Rust
WD-40 Specialist Rust Remover Soak, One Gallon INITIAL RATING: ⭐️⭐️⭐️ RATING LEGEND: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Let’sGo!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Very good, I like it ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Good, works fairly well ⭐️⭐️ OK’ish, Uncertainty lingers ⭐️ Definite No 4 Me INITIAL FIT: applied to Rusty interior of a generator’s metal tank. INITIAL FUNCTIONALITY: easy to apply- after 5 hours or so it did remove surface rust. After 24 hours it never removed pitted rust(not deep pitted, just pitted). Nothing to report on leaks(there were none) or drying time. PRICE: reasonable and comparative to current marketplace INITIAL QUALITY:I’ll report it as high quality for surface rust and low quality for pitted rust INITIAL VALUE FOR THE MONEY: more expensive than helpful due to it not removing pitted rust after 24 hours. Remojo y fuera oxido, buenisimo
