This is really good.
I do pretty good when my dyslexia stays away. Copying the perfect corner has never been easier. I've also found a couple new uses for it....but would buy again in a New York Minute.

This is a keeper
I waited to write this review. I am not a career finish carpenter. I would starve. However, I have been a DIY type all my life. I was raised by a perfectionist DIY dad - so here is my impression: the product works great. My most recent project working on our church parsonage house: I was getting frustrated. Nothing is ever square in a house. This device made cutting outside corners so much easier. For a 'newbi' - be prepared to figure out how to use the thing on your own. The directions are a bit sparse. After measuring, it pops apart on one side and you use the main piece to adjust your miter chop saw. IDK if it could be improved by making it out of Magnesium or stainless steel ($$$) instead of the plastic, aluminum and brass, but it works well enough for me that I am thinking of building a special box for it, lined with foam padding. I don't want this wonderful tool bent up or scuffed up rattling around in my tool box.

Great tool once you figure it out
I’m no contractor and this was my first time cutting baseboards. Product produced fairly accurate miter joints. I used it for putting down baseboards and both pictures show an angle that was not 22.5 degrees but a little bit off. This would have been more difficult without this tool. I suggest using a couple of pieces of scrap to dry fit. I had to modify one of the angles slightly. The only frustrating thing is the tension knob, when loosened, gets stuck about halfway up the track. This usually makes the piece that is suppose to detach to detach prematurely. Maybe mine has a defect? Overall this is a good tool to cut baseboards. Especially if your walls are not perfect angles.

Very Impressive
I'm not much of a wood worker. Most times I call on my Amish friends to do the work but for this baseboard project I bought this Bora MiteriX. I couldn't be happier with the results. It was so easy to use. The instructions are ok but going on youtube really was a big help in understand how to use it. You can't go wrong with this product. What a life saver.

ingenious tool to use with miter saw...
instead of trying to set degrees and fractions thereof. Just find angle, remove from tool, translate angle over to saw. Only wish it could be a little thinner to get into smaller places...but it would be less rugged. Good tool. Pics don't show that you can even "slide out" the Al contact part on the arms for better accuracy (e.g. say your heading to a corner and the wood or excess joint compound would give an inaccurate estimate of the angle at the point of measurement or when have "rounds"...you can just slide the arms out (avoiding the corner) and get the measurement). Also to facilitate all possible conditions, the arms slide past the 90 deg on the "inside". Perfect blend of metal and plastic functionality and robust tighten know for fumbly fingers or gloves. Some little genius designed this.

To get around this I fashioned what no saw manufacturer would recommend, a hold back for the guard
This clever contraption works exactly as described, it divides inside and outside angles in half and accurately transfers the half angle to the mitre saw. I used it successfully to set both mitre and bevel cuts although bevel is challenging because of the blade guard. To get around this I fashioned what no saw manufacturer would recommend, a hold back for the guard. I, of course, unplugged the saw until the adjustment was made and the guard released to its factory position. My use was to install over 200' of 10" high reproduction molding in an old NYC brownstone. There was hardly an angle in the place that was 90 deg, the gauge made my life much easer. The only situations in which I was unable to use the Miterix was where a casing was very close the the corner I was measuring such that the arms couldn't duplicate the angle. Given this glowing review of the Miterix function, why did I rate it 3 only star? The issue is with the materials chosen to construct the body of the gauge. As the arms are slid to measure an angle, a brass pivot slides up and down in a track in the body of the gauge. On one side of the pivot is a plastic knob that is tightened to lock the the angle measurement. The other end of the pivot has a small hex head screw the slides in the track. As the plastic knob is tightened the track Is squeezed between the head of the screw and the brass pivot. This clamping is what locks the angle. Most of the angles I measured were between 85 and 95 deg. This means that the small screw head was repeatedly clamping the track in more or less the same area. After measuring 20 or so angles, the plastic track became rough due to compression in the area of repeated clamping making the pivot very difficult to slide. If the track were a bit wider to accommodate a washer under the head of the screw, the problem would likely be solved. Alternately the track, or the entire body, could be made of a material that better resists being compressed by the head of the screw.

Easy
Don’t do math in public? Now you don’t have to do it at all with your angles.

Fantastic Tool for Baseboards and Crown
After using several different tools over the years, I picked up this tool to see if it was any better. For me it was. I can now accurately measure the angles (since no wall is a 90), and take it back to my saw and apply the correct measurement and get the right cut the first time. While the tool is on the bulky side, it works great for me, and most likely will work great for yoiu.

Valuable tool when installing baseboards.
This tool made life so much easier when installing baseboards in the basement. When it comes to home renovations, I have to admit that my experience is very limited. Getting exact angles quickly and accurately exceeded my expectations. Joints were perfect, in fact some people have said the workmanship is better than many professionals. Of course this makes a person feel good, but I really have to give the credit to the MiteriX.
