Has anyone tried using a white board marker so that you can wipe of and re label these dividers?

I just did and it wiped right off.

Has anyone tried these on standard wooden closet rods? Do they really stay upright?

I used them on a clothing rack but I do think they would stand up on a wooden closet rod.
