Great tool!
This is the finest grease gun I have ever used let alone owned and I've owned several over the years - each one has been a nightmare to use. You know the story, grease everywhere but where you're intending and erupting from every connection point on the tool, right? Well, I own a lot of tools and rarely get excited about any of them. I have to admit that this tool worked so well it prompted me to throw my not-so-old grease guns (two...) right in the trash and bend my wife's ear about what a great tool this was. I did take the advice of another reviewer and installed Teflon tape on all of the threaded connection points prior to use. I can't say whether or not this was necessary, but it seemed a small investment in time to avoid those annoying grease escapes.

Prime the pump!
Decent product for price, there are higher quality guns out there, but this has the features I wanted and has a nice grip. I went ahead and teflon taped all the fittings, some weren't tight... but I feel it's worth doing anyways. Tube of grease went in with no problem, and plunger went in too. I have fought priming grease guns in the past, so I was curious how this would be pump was dry as it was new, tried to see if it had any suction or pressure, had none. I decided to try adding about 4 drops of some 75w-140 that a happened to have on my shelf, after that I could hear the pump sucking! Put pump assembly/handle and tube body together and started pumping... worked like a champ! I would buy this again.

Grease in the word!
Got tired of spreading grease with the gloved "finger dip" method and decided to buy a grease gun. This is something in all honesty I will probably only use 6 times a year at most so didn't want to break the bank on a high dollar one. After looking at several models, this one seemed to be a great balance between functionality and price point. Was pleasantly surprised how sturdy/heavy the gun is and had no problem at all loading it and getting pretty thick grease flowing. I did tape the threaded connections with teflon just as insurance to help keep things neat. First use was on a sliding van door and the gun allowed me to reach deeper into the door's track than I could ever get. Again, this gun isn't something I will use everyday, but I honesty think I could, it seems solid enough I wouldn't call it light duty.

Well constructed, good quality for the price
works well, easy to load, I like the flex hose, and the air purge. I've only had it a month or so so I can't give it 5 stars jsut yet. It does fit a little tightly on the zerk, but I really don't see that as a big problem, I haven't had any difficulty in removing it, you just need to wiggle it a little while pulling. I'm sure it will get a little looser over time.

The only review you need. From an unbiased mechanic.
I looked at other identical guns on here that just looked to have different decals on it; Lucas and powerbuilt. Not sure why I've seen so many bad reviews. Unless the product manufacturing is very inconsistent. But I was skeptical from the reviews. I'm a Refrigeration technician that also wrenches on my boat and vehicles at home. So very light to mid range use I will say this piece is great. I did teflon tape all the threaded fittings before use. Because I saw pics of it having leaks on those other identical units. If you're a mechanic you should know some tephlon tape is an easy fix. On first usage on about 8 zirks it performed great and seems to keep that trend up. So don't listen to other reviews that are negative. I'm a real person with no hidden agenda to knock a product. This pistol grip design is great. It pumps well and I'd buy again.

Issue resolved
Upon arrival I loaded it with a tube of Dexter Lithium #2 grease. After a short period of time I noticed grease leaking from the bleed valve. I reset the valve several time in hopes of correcting the leak to no avail. I then sent an email to seller customer service and immediately heard back from a rep named Jacob. He advised he would immediately send me a bleed valve and for my troubles a gun kit, what ever that is. I was very appreciative and delayed finishing the job I started assuming I would soon receive the new bleed valve and and took the pressure off the grease gun to slow the leak. I am located in Las Vegas and the valve was being sent from CA. I waited for over a week and emailed Jacob and never heard back. At this point I will be returning grease gun to Amazon. Very disappointment and never again will I purchase their product again. I understand things can fail but when new I expect support and not phony lies. UPDATE: Prior to returning the gun to Amazon I again contacted the mfg in regard to not receiving replacement bleed valve as promised. I was advised it had been sent but they would resent one immediately. They were very apologetic and understanding. Within a few days I did receive a new valve as well as a bulk loader. I replaced the bleed valve and the gun works perfect, no more leaks. The only question/concern I have is the strength of the spring. I have never used a grease gun with a spring so powerful. Bottom line, the gun works as designed w/o leaking and I had great customer service. Hence the 5 star rating.
