Seahorses: A Life-Size Guide to Every Species

I just got this book and currently in the first quarter of the novel. The novel is fascinating and detailed. The author does give scientific explanations, but explains everything in lay mans terms. I have learned so much already, highly recommend the book. The pictures are beautiful, the novel well organized and provides everything you could want or need to know about seahorses.

A wonderful beautifully illustrated work! This book is a treasure for anyone interested in learning about the fantastic little creatures of the sea, their habits and distribution of every species known at the time of this printing. And conservation of these little fishes is not neglected in this work, as it is a very crucial moment in time for efforts to save many sensitive and rare species! A great book to have, for the small price. Thank you!

For Lovers of Seahorses! (And, who doesn't love the tiny critters?)

I agree with the previous reviewer that it's hard to find decent seahorse books and this is probably as close to that as you'll find. I have been keeping seahorses for many years and also have a collection of books. This one is absolutely beautifully presented with lots of information and beautiful pictures. It's almost a coffee table book but the right size.This book is not aimed at people looking to keep seahorses but more those who have a general interest. I do find some of the life-size pictures a little dubious but other than that can't fault it.

This book details the 42 known species of seahorses.Each species has2 pages one being a picture and the other being details of the species inclding height ,,weight deprh, ,habitat,conservation,rings,spnes,pectoral and dorsal fins and coronet.Good text and excellent pictures.The fatal flaw of this book is that the text is so faint and small that it is virtually unreadable.

Difficult to find a good quality book on seahorses but this is it! Little bit smaller than I expected - size of average paperback but i guess it is a life size guide! Written in easy to read style, even the more scientific information. Lots of pictures and details on each unique and wonderful species. Would definitely recommend this book to anyone with an interest in these fascinating and beautiful animals.Purchased as second hand although book arrived still wrapped in plastic and was as brand new. Also arrived quicker than estimated.Altogether a wonderful item that I am very happy with.

An excellent book. It is small but contains a lot of information regarding the anatomy, physiology and taxonomy of seahorses as well delivering the beautiful images and life size silhouettes of each. The photographs of each species are blown up so as to be appreciable bearing in mind the diminutive size of these creatures. A silhouette of the same photograph but life size is then provided.
