Compatibility on a budget
The reasons (besides the price) I’m glad I bought this phone are:- I was able to start using it right away by installing a pre-activated SIM card- It has Android 11, so it is up to date with newer innovations- It has good performance because the CPU is an 8 core Qualcomm Snapdragon 460 and it has 3 Gb of RAM- The screen size and battery size are sufficient- The camera is very capable, and face unlock even works in a dark room- The preinstalled launcher is very similar to the Pixel Launcher- The leftmost panel has Google Feed- Besides three-button navigation, gesture navigation is a built-in option- When long-pressing the power button, besides the power controls, a Google Home type of control is displayed, controlling all home devices and even having a Google TV Remote- It has the Google Assistant and responds to “Okay Google,” but does not attempt to duplicate my conversation with my Nest speaker- It runs most features of the Google “Record” app, which doesn’t require the internet, and transcribes as it records- It’s compatible with the “Your Phone” app on Windows 10, even allowing messaging and phone calls from a PC while it’s charging across the room (its battery percentage being also displayed on the PC)- My smartwatch is also compatible with its installed companion app, relaying texts, notifications, and phone calls, and even syncing with Google FitAlthough the TCL A3X is lacking features like fingerprint unlock and NFC, it solves many compatibility issues for me and I actually thought I would have to save and buy a Pixel 5 or 6 for these types of results. There are also some things I experienced which may help others who are buying. This phone arrives in about 4 days with a SIM card that is ready to activate, but I was able to switch out my SIM card as I started in October with a BYOD unlocked Android. When ordering a case, be sure to notice the estimated delivery date. Here is a suggested search: Phone Case For Alcatel TCL A3X A600DL Flex Gel TPU. I was able to easily overcome the two big complaints mentioned on YouTube: 1. For the charging port, I use a magnetic micro USB charging cable. 2. For the bloatware, I uninstalled 8 games and 6 apps and disabled 9 more apps, clearing their data. On startup, there were three or four system updates that were not indicated until clicking “Check for updates”. An acceptable incompatibility for me is that this phone does not have 5 GHz Wi-Fi capability, only 2.4 GHz. Lastly, the font size seems pretty small, so I enlarged the setting up one notch. At this price point, the A3X has some great features and is mostly very well designed, and is a definite upgrade for me.

Overall a Great budget phone
This phone did come with bloatware that was constantly installing apps without my permission, but I promptly uninstalled it with Powershell. Aside from that the only problem I've had is it froze once in the six months I've had it and took two hours to reboot. Overall a very good budget phone compared to others. Its responsive and has lots of memory for me to get any app I need and download hundreds of manga chapters and still has several gigabytes left over.

I had a better phone 2009 than this thing.
No memory, slow response, slow connection. It was good for just a phone in an emergency but nothing more than that
