the model of oil filters for outboard motors can be very confusing and they change often. the seller was very responsive in answering my question and the filter fit perfectly

I don't know how much one can say about a filter that will help others; it fit and the fact it is an O.E.M. filter adds to its usefulness. I have a 1999 YZF600 with 36000 miles plus and the last place you want to get cheap is on filters; that is if you want your machine to last awhile. This is the longest I've owned a motorcycle without going over 100,000 miles, and I have always changed my oil and filter every 4,000 miles and my air filter every 20 to 25,000 miles. I once owned a 1992 Honda VFR750 that I had ridden 147,000 plus miles, without a repair, before I sold the bike.

What can I say, it's a recommended Yamaha oil filter for a screaming Yamaha motorcycle. It does seem to be a durable little cretin. I do wish the Amazon packaging would be a little more secure. I was initially afraid the amount of free movement available within the shipping container would have resulted in some damage. In fact, I believe there was some smash corners. My fears were unfounded (which is pretty typical.. I do have a large number of unusual fears) and the newly installed oil filter did not suffer any leaks. Additionally, the beloved FJR did not HCF (Halt and Catch Fire). Pretty impressive!

Fit perfectly on my 2015 Yamaha YZF-R1

I always just use OEM oil filters, and this is no exception. It filters the oil, just like it should. That's all I need it to do.
