Does this show the capital of each country?

Yes it does. Each Capital city has a bold line drawn underneath the spelling. Eg: Beijing would have that line yet (Peking) the same city would have parenthesis about it. Cheers!

Does it show Palestine and Israel both?

Good question, upon close exam it only shows Israel with other prominent surrounding countries in that region.
