DON’T BUY A “FAST” SD CARD FOR A 2009 CAMERA UNTIL YOU READ THIS COMPATIBILITY TRICK
IF YOU’RE USING AN OLDER 2009 CAMERA, THIS CARD IS ABOUT RELIABILITY, NOT SPEED BRAGGING RIGHTS. A lot of people upgrade storage expecting faster shot-to-shot times, then blame the card when nothing changes, or when the camera gets picky and throws errors. In a camera that old, the body is usually the bottleneck, so what you’re really buying here is a reputable card that writes consistently, behaves predictably, and is far less likely to corrupt a day’s worth of photos compared to random bargain cards. Here’s the setup that avoids the most common failure. Confirm your camera supports SDHC and its maximum capacity, many 2009 models top out at SDHC 32GB and will act weird with anything beyond that. Then format the card in the camera before the first use, not on a computer, so the file system and allocation size match what the camera expects. If your camera offers “low level format,” run it once, then stick to in-camera formatting going forward, and avoid swapping the same card between multiple devices without reformatting, that’s a classic way to invite odd glitches on older firmware. The honest downside is you might not see any performance improvement in a 2009 body, and some especially finicky cameras still behave better with smaller cards like 8GB or 16GB. That said, the long-term value is strong because you’re paying for stability, plus SanDisk backs these with a lifetime limited warranty, which is extra peace of mind if the card itself ever fails. Compared to rolling the dice on cheap cards or overspending on UHS-II cards your camera cannot take advantage of, this is a smart buy for keeping an older camera dependable.

Sped up my camera's buffer and write speed!
Have only had this for a day, so I can't speak about the durability or reliability of the card, but it is much faster than my previous card. I tested this by running a 7 second high-speed burst of RAW files (16MB each) with each card. The old card (Promaster 16GB class 10 card) captured 37 shots, while this new SanDisk card captured 49 shots. Both ran at full speed for about 4 seconds, when the promaster slowed down, and the SanDisk slowed down at about 5 seconds (an extra 10 shots in the case of this OMD em-1 camera). But if you aren't shooting a burst for 4 seconds or more, that may not matter. What does matter is that the old promaster card took an extra 41 seconds to finish recording those images to the card (anyone familiar with the blinking memory card icon on your camera?), while the new card finished recording in 13 seconds. However long of a burst you shoot, that is 3x faster that you will be able to start shooting again. Of course, the improvement you see will depend on what memory card you are switching from. What you can take from this is that the memory card speed DOES make a difference to your shooting experience, and it is not the camera alone that matters. Hope this helps

Extreme Pro for my Tactacam
These are used exclusively for my Tactacam Trail Cameras. Works great. 2 years now and thousands of pictures later...still working great. I purchased multiple SD cards and labelled them specific to each camera. I format them in that specific Tactacam and only use the ones specific to each camera. Holds more than enough pictures and videos. I left the cameras out for a year and not one problem with these cards in either heat or cold! Great little cards!

These out perform much faster cards from other manufactures. Many companies may get by with faster speed ratings on their cards for very very short bursts but SanDisk can take the speed rating 24/7 and without issue. Case and point, I needed a 32BG SDHC for a sound desk that does live sound recording. It had to be a 32GB card due to compatibility with the card slot. That didnt leave much choice, I already had a 300MBs SD card that was compatible from Lexar. It was maxed out at 7 audio tracks of recording!!!! I bought this SanDisk to replace it as I have a few other SanDisk cards and love them, even though it's technically 3x slower it could handle 34 tracks of audio recording at once!!! So there you go. Id buy SanDisk again without hesitation. No more Lexar
