Sweese 3402 Cork Coasters - 4 Inches for Drinks - Set of 10, Round

One of the favorite gifts I give family and friends is hand-made cork coasters. And, I have so much fun making them. My son-in-law requested a Red Hot Chili Peppers themed set.I ordered these because they have a nice, raised edge to help hold condensation from sweaty drinks. They are cork so there will always be some measure of flex, and we will have to wait to learn if, or how much that raised edge might get crumbly. I coated the outside of the rim on one of them to see if it makes a difference in how the coasters last, but they are really so sturdy that I think they will last a long time.This cork takes well to everything I tried. Permanent markers, wood burning tools, alcohol inks, stamping ink (although that takes a certain amount of finessing), acrylic paint (needs some experimentation with dilution), India ink and something I cannot remember.I will be ordering again. Packaged to avoid damage and prompt arrival.

I was a little suspicious that these might be cheaply made, but I have been pleasantly surprised. They are absorbent, well-sized, and dense. I’ve only had them a relatively short time, but I have no complaints yet.

These were bought to use at a summer party. Everyone loved them! They did a great job absorbing the moisture from the glasses. They are lightweight and nice looking. There is a lip to the coaster, so if anything happens to spill on the coaster, it will not run off and get on the table. My guests were given the coasters to keep at the end of the party. It's now been 4 months and my friends were just talking about how great those coaster are. I highly recommend this product! I'm thinking of buying more to use as Christmas gifts.

so I originally had bought these for my fruit baskets that are out on the counter, because I read they keep them from rotting faster and fruit flies at (which they did); but I also use them for coasters and they keep all the condensation off the tables as well as not sticking to the cups. Highly recommend if you want for coasters or for keeping fruit fresh and flies at bay.

I leave some all over our house where we have wood surfaces. They look good when superposed on each other in twos or threes, when a whole coaster holder would require four or more which is rarely necessary.As a note: no cork coaster absorbs liquids. Reviews that complain about the lack of absorption are nonsensical. The only think you can expect is that, with enough time, the liquid will evaporate.

These Sweese coasters keep my table dry. As there is a rim and condensation from glasses collect inside. They don't scratch. The only thing that you may not like, when the coaster gets wet, it holds onto the glass when lifting the glass. This never happens with cups. I like that the coasters protect your table from hot beverages. Easily wipe clean. The only con: do not come with a coaster holder and Sweese doesn't have one to purchase.

I received some leather coasters for a gift. Even though I use only insulated mugs, tumblers, etc., (it's Florida!) they get wet from condensation, then stick to the glass and fall off when moving or walking with it. These don't. If they do get wet, the cork is not a sheer surface, the area is big enough that it doesn't get entirely saturated, and they are heavy enough to stay put when the glass is lifted. The other plus is that they have a large area inside the walls to accommodate many sizes of drinkware. They even take my insulated water bottle (Healthy Human) perfectly. I don't need them for the water bottle, but since they are by my seating areas, I just stick it in one of these coasters just in case the bottle has some water remaining on the bottom after filling it.
