SA-SW5 Wireless Subwoofer for BRAVIA THEATER (BAR 9, BAR 8, QUAD), HT-A9/A7000/A5000/A3000/S2000 and STR-AN1000

I just upgraded my surround system from a 2016 Denon receiver 7.1 chan. I felt that it was getting a bit old and took up a lot of space etc. And while the sound was ok, my speakers weren't the best. I got the Sony HT-A8000 Atmos soundbar as well as the Sony SA-RS5 rear speakers. I wanted everything to be from Sony rather than mix and match. I am very happy with the ease of setup. Basically you do it all via the Bravia app and it walks you thru the steps even checking to make sure you have everything setup correctly. This speaker was setup in 5 seconds. Of course after unpacking the heavy box and plugging it in. The sound, the power, the clarity.....impressive. I hear sounds on games, tv shows and movies that i've seen and played many times that i've never heard before after installing this speaker. The bass is so deep and crisp it really feels like you are in a movie theater. Especially that i have it paired with the soundbar and rear speakers. I know it's pricy but just go for it, you'll be very happy you did. It's made very well and it will last. I've had other systems over the years including soundbars and separate subwoofers but this one I can actually say is top of the line. Just fantastic. On a side note, the app to configure everything also lets you set volume and a few other things for the speakers so once the initial automated setup is complete, you can still change things to your preferences. So if you don't want heavy bass you can lower the volume.

Wow! The subwoofer sounds great. It was the final addition to our upgraded Sony surround system. We placed the sub behind our theater chairs and you can really feel the bass. The sound is smooth with no messy bass or distortion. I was lucky to be able to get the components all on sale so saved hundreds of. Although, the sub seems a little pricey but it is a Sony. Setup was simple with the Sony receiver as it auto detected it using Bluetooth. There is no delay through the connection. I would definitely recommend this subwoofer for your home theater or sound system.

I was reluctant to spend the money for this speaker and get the one less expensive to accompany the soundbar. That would have been a mistake! The bass sound from this speaker is rumbling and wonderful -- true beautiful bass tones. We have to turn the speaker down sometimes, so it doesn't rattle the house and bother the neighbors. What a worthwhile puchase! Love it!

Recently picked up the newest Sony Quad Channel 2024 edition HT-A9M2 system and used it for a week or so without the subwoofer. This was replacing a Sennheiser Soundbar which had a monster sized aux cabled 400w Subwoofer with it so while the sound was very good and had the potential to be better than my Sennheiser setup, without a subwoofer there just wasn't a comparison. The Sony HT-A9M2 only works with Sony BT subwoofers SW3 and SW5. I decided to go with the more powerful SW5 but in hindsight even the SW3 probably would have been enough. I purchased this one via the Amazon Warehouse "Used- Very Good" and it arrived in its original box, all accessories intact but it clearly had been handled a bit but was overall in very good condition. It is pretty dense and heavy which I like in a subwoofer. Package was 30lbs+ so be ready. Hookup is straight forward as you plug it into the wall and that's basically it. The Sony Bravia App allows you to select adding a subwoofer and it finds and links it quickly. The difference in the sound stage and quality was like night and day as the Quad channel speakers no longer had to try and keep up with their much weaker bass and richness of sound added as the subwoofer took over. It is more than powerful enough and even ~10ft away I ended up setting it to a -2 (negative 2) setting as it was producing that much bass in the most wonderful way. A subwoofer is really a requirement for the HTA9 line of speakers to really bring out the most in your music, movies and programs and the SW5 does an excellent job at that.

Sony SA SW5 subwoofer is a decent product. Does the job. The bass isn't great, it's ok. The bass isn't very clear becuase the sound bar drowns most of the bass. For the most part you won't hear the bass unless you are watching movies or listening music with heavy bass. Based on the sound quality, this subwoofer is not worth 600 or even 500. I got it on sale for 448 and I still think I paid too much. Unfortunately I didn't have a choice because you cannot use a different brand of subs with the HT-A7000 sound bar. This is why I am keeping this sub. Keep in mind, this subwoofer is big and a little on the heavy side.

I bought the Sony Bravia Theater Quad about 6 months ago. I really enjoy them. I was never a big bass fan so I skipped out on the compatible subwoofer since this system is over $2 grand. And then I started to read reviews about what I was missing. So I bought the SA-SW5 after I collected a few more paychecks. It's like a whole new sound system now.. Nice tight bass, nothing that overpowers the Quad speakers, only compliments them. 5 stars.

The only con for this is you might get a noise complaint from the bass in your house

Guess it’s another Sony must have in order to elevate your audio sound system quality. Quite honestly, I can not tell the difference.

Excelente para un espacio algo amplio pero no es necesario en una recámara de 4x3 ahí recomendaría en W3 el W5 se escucha bien de un espacio de 5x6 , en un espacio así con la barra A 5000 o A 7000 es perfecto para ver Películas o conciertos , ya que si puedes comprar los parles traseros quedaría de 10 tu sonido .

I bought a set of Sony A9s a few months ago to improve the sound of my Bravia TV in the bedroom; the speakers mounted on the wall and are an improvement over the TV speakers (no surprise there). I wasn't sure I would need a sub on the system, so delayed the purchase a few months until I was familiar with the A9s' sound. I bought this sub a few weeks ago, with somewhat tempered expectations given the size of the sub and the desire not to have a booming sub LFE (low frequency effect) speaker in the bedroom. My expectations have been exceeded in every way: I love this sub! Installing was easy: launch the Bravia iOS app,. click on "add a sub", and there it is. The sub is easy to situate and is unobtrusive. The sound from the sub was surprising: it augmnents the A9s beautifually and seamlessly, with no booming base, and while it is limited in deep bass, the sound complements the A9s and TV speakers (which I set up as center channel). I thought I would have to spend a fair bit of time balancing levels to reduce sub boom but I have the system set in default levels and am happy with the sound. I am truly suirprised at the quality of the sub's sound, and strongly recommend it as an add-on if you have A9s. Love it!

التغليف بصراحة جدا ممتاز وصلتني بكرتونة أمازون وداخلها الكرتونة الأصلية من سوني السماعة ثقيلة جدا وفيها حماية فوم من الأمام والخلف مربوطة بسيرين بلاستك (مشكلتها ما لها مسكة علشان تحطها بالمكان المناسب) ممكن تشيلها من أسفل أو من الجوانب بالضغط عليها براحة اليد بصراحة أول ما ركبت الصبووفر مع السماعات لم ألاحظ أي تغيير ، قمت بعمل تحديث لكل السماعات وبعدها جربت مقطع فوركي من فيلم باتمان بجودة صوت 5.1 يا جماعة ما صدقت الجو اللي أنا فيه قسم بالله كل شيء بالغرفه يهتز طبعا حطيتها خلف الكرسي اللي كنت جالس عليه والله انه يهتز من قوة الصوت ما أقصد قوه على الفاضي ... ﻻ بالعكس جوده وجو كأنك جالس بينهم حتى كفرات سيارة باتمان تحس بالاهتزاز حقها والسيارات لما تنقلب والرشاشات جو خرافي بصراحة كنت متردد في الأول خاصة أني قلت خلاص عندي السماعات الأصليه تكفي لكن لما جربتها بصراحة تسوى المبلغ اللي حطيته فيها أنصح بشرائها خصوصا مع التخفيضات على كلى السماعات
