Review: Wow, this stuff is awesome - I have 2 waterproof jackets and a pair of DC snowboard pants. I used to wash my one jacket with detergent all the time.. and it was no longer waterproof. I thought the washing caused it. Then with my softshell jacket.. I sweated in it a few times and stunk up the armpits. I didn't want to wet the whole jacket, so I handwashed the armpit section with detergent a few times. The smell always came back. I thought I was out of luck since I didn't want to throw it in the wash and ruin it with detergent. Luckily a girl at Mount Brighton suggested Nikwax. This stuff is magical. My jackets are back to being awesome! Even all the dark stains on my snowboard pants are gone. They look like new. One bottle only works for 2 washes. Definitely worth it. The science is true. Detergent clogs the pores in the jacket just as bad as dirt. My snow clothes are basically brand new again. A+ Review: but now it performs worse. - Water absorption is not a feature I look for in a rain jacket, but mine now has it.
