None of the "hand pull" skivers will do that. There's just too much friction, even with a razor sharp blade. If your blade is extremely sharp, you can do up to about 3" wide. To do a full 6" width, you need a hand cranked or motorized machine. **Q: Is this imported? If so, from where?** A: No, these are not imported. Handcrafted in Ohio. **Q: does this work with soft leather?** A: I have used mine on both vegetable and oil tanned leathers down to about 4 oz. thickness.
