One can't find these tales of tour bus debauchery by authurs in the mix-no buffering minders for these manky yobs. Would have only took two sessions if iPad wasn't sabotaged to fuckery.

Magnificent account of the band's early days!
I am currently reading this book right now, and I must say that it's the best one I've read so far based on the life of the band in their early days. It's so in depth and detailed into the lives of each and every band member and what they were like, especially the Gallagher brothers. The author was there with them when they were achieving their marvelous success back in the mid-nineties, and he really gives you a first hand account of all the important things that happened, and it's almost as if you are there with them and that's what makes this book so valuable. Any true Oasis fan has to own this book, you will just love them more and more with every chapter that you read.

Excellent Choice
I would like to express how pleased I was after I bought this book for this time on Amazon.com.I went after a good friend's advice, a friend that reads a lot and had previously bought other second handed books from Amazon.com. And he was right! My book got here in Brazil, that's right, in Brazil, in perfect conditions and in good timing!Other than that, sometimes we can't get titles in its original language down here, and this was the case again. Also, final price with shipping included was cheaper than most books purchased at stores around here. The book's conditions were perfect, it actually looked as if I'd just bought it at a store, brand new!I truly recommend it!

Um, No Photos?!?!
Just figured out there are no photos. Did they not get attached in ebook form? How do you write a book about a band and not add photos? I like to look at them first to familiarize myself with the people and places so the stories are easy to follow. So far it reads really well. I like the history of Ireland and Manchester as well as the family. Makes a big difference in understanding the how and why of their dynamic.

Awesome book if you love Oasis!
Amazing book that I couldn't put down ! I just wish it was longer and talked more about Oasis's thoughts on their success. Before I knew it, I was almost done with the book and was sad! I enjoyed the author's writing style-- sophisticated yet readible.

They're, their and there
Interesting read, although there are a lot of grammatical errors throughout the book. The author also gets some song lyrics wrong. I don't know how this happens, don't they have editors?

The Noel Gallagher history of the rise of Oasis
Getting High: The Adventures of Oasis by the journalist Paolo Hewitt, is an account of the rapid rise of Oasis, from unemployment to the biggest outdoor gig in British history in just three years.Paolo has unhindered access to all the characters in the story and delves in to the backgrounds of the Gallagher brothers, Noel and Liam - their Irish roots and their Manchester growth. Then we follow the brothers who go on their own separate journeys before creating the Oasis that we now know. This is a book written very much from the inside out - it is the Oasis story as perceived by Oasis. There are other perspectives but primarily this is the Noel Gallagher history of the band.Like Oasis' debut album, Definitely Maybe, Getting High is a rowdy, joyful affair, the first half of the book being the best, as rock biographies tend to be. Once the band achieve significant success, it then becomes a list of gigs played, parties attended and celebrities met. The only real insights by this stage is how the band interact in the recording studios.Written by an experienced music journalist, it is surprising that there are a few noticeable errors in song titles - even Oasis song titles! Half the World Away becomes Half a World Away, D'You Know What I Mean becomes D'Ya Know What I Mean, My Big Mouth becomes Me and My Big Mouth and The Rolling Stones' Shine a Light becomes Shine On Me.Despite these little annoyances, Getting High: The Adventures of Oasis is still a great book and a must-read for any Oasis fan and those interested in the music and culture of the 1990s. The excellent documentary film about Oasis that came out years later, Supersonic, covers much the same material and in doing so, is a terrific visual companion piece to this well written book.
