Is this microwavable?

This is not a hot pack - it is the sleeve that goes over the hot pack. No, these hot packs and the sleeves are not meant to be put in the microwave. They are only intended to be used in a hydrocollator.

Does this have any prodection for preventing clothing or bedding from becoming damp?

This is a thick towel basically. It has a pocket inside so that you can insert your dry heat/cooling item. The pocket stops you from getting wet. It worked well for me while in physical therapy. I purchased it for home use because it is the same one used by my physical therapy site.

It's basically a foam sandwich with terrycloth towel's as the bread. If that helps ;)

Heat pads

I use this daily in a busy chiropractic office. Very high quality, they hold up for 4-5 years without much issue. In fact, only reason I replaced my old ones were due to staining, not the quality of the material. Holds a good amount of heat, will slowly disperse it over about 10-15 minutes out of the hydrocollator.
