OttLite 13W Replacement Tube - ONLY 13W Lamps Purchased After 2008 - Electronic Ballast Bulb - Compact Fluorescent Light Replacement - Type E Bulb

I ordered a bulb that appeared to have been re-packaged because it didn’t work. Replacement bulb works perfectly, as it should. Nice and bright, exactly as an Ottlite bulb should, they are the best!

I was ready to buy a new light, but found this bulb that works from the OttLight people. So happy to have a working light again.

For many years I have used the old-style (non-led) Ott task lite lamps and I'm a HUGE fan of Dr. Ott and have all of his books, including the extremely rare one. I even have an original "Ott Lite" (a big box style with two full-spectrum florescent tubes and a smaller unfiltered black light tube) hanging over my desk. When they burn out I may have a hard time replacing them. Also, the company is now going with LED which he would have frowned upon but for using the old task lights, this bulb is great. I called the company and they recommended I buy this one on Amazon. These last forever. I think most of my Ott tasks lights last at least 10 years before they need a new bulb. I currently have (besides my original Ott Lite) 2 task lights above my desk laying wide open shining up at the ceiling and wide open hanging down. I have them each attached to a push-button switch (probably meant for Christmas lights) so I can turn the up-facing or down-facing ones on separately. The lighting it creates is fantastic! I'm even getting ready to buy more and mount them under my kitchen cabinets. As you can tell, I'm a HUGE fan and have been for years... every since my best friend recommended the light to me and when I first opened it on my dimly lit desk at work (where I had no windows) it looked like a flood of sunshine coming out! I was hooked and it even lifted my mood every day! I couldn't work without having it on or it seemed to dark and dingy. These lights are the best!

I took off one star just because it was so hard to remove the old bulb and install the new one. I followed a couple of YouTube videos, but I still struggled. (One hint is to use one of those small mailers, maybe 6X8", lined with bubble wrap. Insert the bulb inside the envelope while you are working on removing and inserting, so that if there is a break, you'll save your hands. That's what I needed, and the idea was brilliant.). Of course, the YouTube videos show the old bulb popping right out, and the new one popping right in. Not in my world, but it's now working fine!

If you like your old OttLite, pre 2008, this is the bulb. It does not work on the newer models with electronic ballast. It appears that the older bulbs have a slightly different base appearance, with two plastic ramps molded into the base on either side as opposed to one ramp on the newer units. The packaging that I received was different than the listing which shows a blister pack. Mine was in a triple cardboard box wrapped in bubble pack - superior packaging in my opinion. It's an expensive bulb but it is made, like the original, with OttLites specific color temperature design.

This Ott light bulb works perfectly and is exactly what is needed for my lamp. Item shipped quickly.

Easy to replace this 13W light. Doesn't seem to be as bright as the original, but works okay. Love these lights that help me see when sewing... on each machine. You won't be disappointed.

Be careful when removing and replacing the bulb. The base of the bulb can be broken during the exchange because of the tight fit. This bulb is the same bulb that came with the lamp when first bought. Long lasting and produces bright light.

My light bulb for the OttLite has lasted for over 10 years, so I was somewhat concerned about being able to get a working replacement. This bulb I purchased works, great, the price was good and the delivery was very quick.

I depend on good lighting when sewing and this product was easy to find and works great.

Was happy to read from a reviewer that I needed the magnetic ballast as my light is an older model. Seems to work fine and a good price
