This cage has been a blessing. My family moved to a new place that has roosters crowing at 3am. After the first night or constant crowing (right outside our bedroom window), I was in the hunt to catch these roosters in a humane way. My local feral chicken program was going to cost $200+ per week to rent a cage. So that was a no-go. And the. The landscaping guy that services our area said he would pick up the chickens for free. Free food. So I pulled the trigger on getting this cage and was quite disappointed for the first 2 weeks. No chickens! I almost wanted to return it and my wife said to be patient. And after a “yes darling”, on Christmas Eve last year, bam. That solid. Of the cage closing was the greatest Christmas present ever. Since then, we’ve caught over 30 feral chickens.The peddle can be triggered pretty easily. So I tend to catch some chicks, but we let those go since we’re really after the big guys which are for eating and mitigating the noise. It also triggers large common birds, so that’s a bit of a hassle to have to let go, but that’s all because the cage works well.Also having doors on both sides is helpful to get the chicken acquainted with the cage, walking in and out to get food.

This trap is way worth its price. I had a stubborn and very smart feral cat trapped in my garage for a few months that would not go into the standard trap for the life of him!Animal control suggested I get him use to my dogs kennel to eat from and trap him that way.I had been searching for a larger trap that would resemble my dogs kennel at a good price and I found this one.When I received the trap the locking mechanism was not working so I reached out directly to the manufacturer (not Amazon) and the owner sent me out a new working one the same day!I finally trapped the cat and got him TNR through humane society and now he’s free and back in the community ❤️Best money I’ve spent in a while!

Worked perfectly...with modifications,metal in the back where the bait is put must have much smaller gaps. Animal I was trying to catch stole the food through those gaps three nights in a row before I reinforced the back to make the holes impossible to steal from

This trap worked great for me. On the first night, I caught one of the many feral cats in my neighborhood. I found it easy to release him by pulling out the rear door pin. He pushed the door open and ran away to his new home. It was easy to set up. Some have reviewed that the door only opens inward. I found it easy to open in or out and set up the bait next to the trigger plate. I highly recommend it.

This is rickety, moves back and forth about two inches, makes me feel it will collapse on the animals if they move around too much (and they will). I am going to use zip ties to see if I can make the cage sturdy. The bottom of the cage has large spaces, not good for small legs. The door on back end cannot be easily slid open, you need to remove the small bar that slides in place in order to open that end. Cannot slip food or water into cage without removing the door, animal could easily escape. I may be returning this item. Disappointed.

Cage is well built, heavy duty, but…the door latch is in the middle, and there is a lot of space between the door and the frame. This allows raccoons to get their fingers around the door and they tear it up, bend it badly. I don’t think it’s going to last long because of this.

Before I made my decision on this purchase, I watched hours of YouTube videos on the assembly, setup & use of of several different manufacturers catch & release traps in this size range. When the trap arrived, I fully expected to take an hour with pliers, bending this, and bending that, to adjust the plate height & sensitvity. Less than 5 minutes from cutting the tape on the box, I had the trap unfolded & setup, ready to bait. The plate height & sensitivity were already spot on. I read the reviews complaining that this trap is cheap & flimsy. That is a lie. Also, the back "door" of this trap can be used as an easy release. The only issuse would be if the trapped animal is so big that there isn't enough room to push the door down with your foot or a stick, after releasing the top clip that holds the door in place. I don't see even the craftiest raccoon being able to escape from this trap.This trap is well worth the cost & will last a lifetime, IMHO😉:Update:I caught a lost kitty in the baited trap that had been missing since Xmas day. I put it out on Social Media & within an hour, this kitty was back home with her Mama & family.
