Waste of time and money
In spite of the advertising, this does not work on a Mac. In order for it to download, it must be registered and the registration attempts are ignored. I tried to give it a no star rating, but apparently I must give it at least one. It isn't worth that.

Doesn't work
I can't get past the registration. It appears that whatever registering agency that once existed is no longer out there. I've contacted the company via their product support web page and they never responded. Further investigation on their page reveals that they don't support this game anymore. It's not that I have the wrong code. If I type in a random code, it says so. But if I put in the correct code, it loops back to have me type it again. The product is worth less than a blank disk. Even a blank disk can be used to burn info onto. It should be a crime to sell this thing. It doesn't warrant even one star.

I don't hate it, but I am very disappointed in regards ...
Where do I even begin? First off, I bought the game in really high hopes that the game would work at a capacity that would be beneficial for me and other players. I got the game today and it won't even let me go through the registration process. I don't hate it, but I am very disappointed in regards of the fact that I cannot play it. Please refrain from buying this product and if you do, be cautious that the requirements to play are met. I am very disappointed in this product.

Horrible. Will not load beyond the Registration Screen. I have the proper keycode but it fails to connect to the servers to register. Game cannot start beyond registration.

Will not recognize the registration code
Doesn't work on my new mac air. I read all the reviews about the issue of not getting past registration code, but I was hoping it would work for me. After spending hours trying to install it, I had to give up. Very upset and disappointed.

you will never get to finish this game
I can't recommend you buy this game. It is loads of fun when it works, but at some point along the campaigns it will crash one more time and you will not be able to get past it. This is after you have installed the patch. It is incredibly frustrating and not what you expect from mac games. Customer support from Freeverse is no help and there will be no work arounds.

No Registration Code
My computer meets all the system requirements and I have installed the game but when I try open in it asks for a registration code. There is no registration code on the cover of the manual as suggested and I have never submitted an email for registration. I'm stuck, I hope I don't have to return the game.

Very addictive turn-based strategy RP game
A turn-based strategy game set in a fantasy world of 'might and magic', where you play your heroes with varying armies, built up in the castles you own - or conquer. Armies come in six flavours (elves, necromancers, humans, etc.). Castles start out pretty basic, but with the resources you collect (wood, iron, gems, etc.) you can gradually build them up to produce more developed armies, up to dragons, the most powerful units; or magic, or defensive structures...This is the 5th instalment of the series, so by now the system is well worked out, the graphics are 3D and slick, the gameplay smooth. With over 90 creatures/armies and six campaigns (each with a series of sub-games) this will keep the solo player occupied for weeks and months; and there is multiplayer for endless diversion, too.But the main thing - is it fun to play, does it keep your interest/ Well, as a personal opinion - yes. I find HOMM5 pretty addictive, and (at 'hard' level) pretty tough going - some scenarios I have to play several times before I manage. There is the occasional rather boring interlude, while you have to build up your town to build your forces to a size you can attack with; or the frustrating time-limited scenario where you keep on losing! But I am playing this for the second time all the way through now, and it is eating my evenings...
