Midwest Control MBB-75 600 PSI CWP 3/4" NPT MxF Brass Ball Valve

The description of this valve doesn't mention that the brass material has LEAD (Instead of adding zinc, Chinese manufacturer of this valve adds LEAD to cut cost). I found out this information from a label attaching to the valve. If you are using this valve for portable/drinking water applications, this valve is not for you. It is just wasting my time to order this. I return the valve to Amazon.

Sturdy part, Teflon seals, smooth actuation. Leaded and not for potable water but perfect for what I need it for (waste valve).Thankfully the handle is also removable so I can reverse it to fit my application.

Do you have a hose with one of those little brass power washing connectors that you have to screw open and closed? What a pain. This is your best option. Just get the right connectors to put it on your garden hose and you will save a lot of frustration, and water. I have put these on all of my hoses. So instead of having to screw sprayer end open and closed to stop the flow, i just open and close this valve. My husband loves these almost as mich as the power sprayer. I also have one on my hydrodigger. I wish i had known about them earlier in my life.

The existing drain was the garden spigot type which is restrictive and not a flow-through design. This ball valve opens and closes faster, and the larger, straight flow through design is more efficient for flushing out sediment. As long as you have the tools and some teflon pipe tapes, its an easy DIY project. My water heater inlet did not have an on/off valve and I always have to shut the main whenever I have to do any maintenance on the heater. This addition of a shutoff valve alleviate that problem.

Your browser does not support HTML5 video.  Bought this on June, 2020 and broke in Feb, 2021. That's a just 8 MONTHs. The casing got cracked on one side which indicates that the build quality is really poor. The crack is pretty big as the water is gushing out. Wish I could give a ZERO rating.

I use this to control the flow of natural gas to a portable generator at my house. Works great and assures a full flow of gas when turned on. Shuts off natural gas completely when turned off. Fit and function were flawless.

I got this to replace the plastic garbage drain/flush valve on my hot water heater. Why they ever decided to go with such an impractical design is beyond me. Had to buy a hose adapter for the male end of the valve. I've tightened it down pretty tight but I'm still getting a very slow drip. I used plumbers tape, Maybe not enough. It should stop once the alkali sets in. So much easier to flush my tank now.
