DharmaObjects Tibetan Meditation Om Mani Singing Bowl/Cushion/Mallet (Orange)

OK, i have read some reviews and purchased this singing bowl.. there is no instructions to use to make it 'sing', so here is a simple way to get it to 'resonate'. Hold the bowl with as little contact with the hand/palm or fingers as possible. Take the mallet and hold it 1/2 of the way down the shaft, larger end facing down. The OUTSIDE edge of the bowl is what you use to make it resonate. Run it around the edge NOT pressing hard, but gently and go around about 1x per second to do this. Tap the bowl at first if you have a hard time getting it to resonate. It will start to get louder and louder with each stroke. It is a bit high of a pitch for my liking, but a great sound none the less.Hope this helps.

This bowl is absolutely beautiful. The paint isn't 100% "perfect" as others mentioned, but these are made by hand so what do you expect? I love the way it looks! I was able to make it sing on my first try, and was able to sustain a gorgeous hum for a really long time. The hum lingered for a good 20 seconds (give or take) after I stopped circling with the mallet. It's a beautiful tone that - at least for me - calmed and centered my mind increasing my focus. Even my pup was lulled by the sound and began dozing off next to me as I was playing it. It's definitely worth the money, especially for beginners. For those saying they can't produce a good hum or any hum at all, I would suggest looking up "how-to" videos on youtube. There's definitely a certain technique to it and it requires a gentle, steady hand. Happy humming everyone! <3

This is a wonderful "starters-level" bowl. It isn't the fanciest item nor is it a Fair Trade item, but it is definitely impressive for being so inexpensive. Om Mani Padme Hum is traced into the metal, and creates a beautiful finished product. The bowl comes with a beautiful resting pad to prevent damage to the bowl, or to quiet it after a strike.

This is my 3rd singing bowl. I bought the medium size, purple bowl. I’m not satisfied, its hard to create a strong sound with this thing. The sound resonates only softly and i have to make more effort in making a loud one. I tried tapping it to create it then swirl it around the bowl. The sound fades away slowly. I’ve tried playing it many different ways and nope, I think i got a defected one. The overall appearance is decent. I didnt mind the imperfections of the paint inside and out because I bought the bowl to create sound and not appearance.

This is my first ever singing bowl to own, and it's a powerful tool for both focusing to begin meditation and to experience the calming and healing effects of sound vibration. For the price, I am shocked and thrilled at the quality of product.My bowl came in a neat storage box, and looks like the one shown on the product listing (although it seems that not every bowl will be the same, based on other reviews).It came with the mallet and the cushion to rest it on. My bowl sings in the key of B.If you're curious about getting your first bowl, this is a great option.

I am very familiar with singing bowls and have played many of them before big and small. I have always wanted one of my own but the price always deterred me. I was so happy when I stumbled over this product. It is SO AMAZING. I receive the small green bowl, the cushion, and wooden mallet. When I first got the bowl it was smaller than what I had anticipated however when I started to play it, I was blown away. It sang almost immediately and the sounds were so strong. It’s the best little singing bowl I’ve ever heard. I think it is also safe to say that its even better than some of the larger ones in my local medaphysical store that are 5 times this price! If you are reading this I would highly recommend you get the bowl. I do plan on purchasing this item again as a gift for a loved one. Very very impressed and pleased.

This little singing bowl is a fun conversation piece. People are usually blown away by the amplitude of the ringing it creates. I haven't been very successful meditating with it alone. It's easier if you have a buddy to ring it for you, or a group leader of sorts. Doing it yourself is difficult when you're trying to clear your mind. That being said, I could see how it COULD be helpful if you're focusing purely on the revolutions, like common meditative breathing exercises.

This is my first singing bowl, but it seems good for the price. It's definitely on the inexpensive side, though, and does have a couple of minor issues. First of all, there was some paint splatters around the rim that were affecting the sound and had to be polished off. Second, the included wooden mallet is very rough and was making a lot of scratching noise when playing the bowl. In both instances, a little steel wool did the trick. There are other, painted parts of the bowl that are a bit rough, but it's not really noticeable and there is one flat spot on the rim, but it doesn't really seem to affect the sound / playability any.This bowl is very easy to play. I was able to get a nice tone out of it right away on my first try and after a few minutes of practice, my 11yr old was able to make it sing as well.
