Saving the Team (The Kicks)

My soccer obsessed daughter LOVES these books (and the show). The fact that they're written by an actual real life amazing soccer player is inspiring to her- she knows that they are accurate and true to the sport she loves. My 8 year old loved them so much we bought them for all the girls on our team for their end of season gift. Alex Morgan is such a great role model, showing the girls that they can be whoever they want to be. Definitely recommend these for any soccer loving kid.

What a great story, we had the opposite experience on our home team, a girl from california came to play soccer in new york, she went from practicing daily to once or twice a week, she couldn't come to grips with how different it was around here and I was worried for the main character because I know the girl from california has more talent, but it wasn't pure talent that made her fit in, you just have to find what works for you, cannot wait for the 3rd book to release.

My daughter LOVES these books by Alex Morgan and cannot wait for the 3rd one to ship in March! It takes a little while for her to get into each story line but once she does she can't put the books down!The fact that she's watched Alex play soccer and that my daughter also plays select soccer makes her feel the books are written just for her and she loves it!

I'm a HUGE fan of Alex Morgan as a soccer player, and now I'm a huge fan of Alex Morgan as a writer! I really enjoyed the book and it was really inspirational! The character Devin is really inspirational and you can learn so many good lessons from this book. I really loved this book and I know that I will read it more than once! I play soccer too and I can relate a lot to Devin's situation. It really has inspired me in so many was! Can't wait to get the next book!-SoccerChamp10A.K.A Alex Morgan's biggest fan!

I bought these books as Easter gifts for my two grandaughters who are heavily into soccer. They were thrilled with them and eagerly await more.

"The Kicks" is a very well written book that is a positive life lesson for tweens and fun to read.The Author,Alex Morgan' is an excellent role model for girls in an age where they have very few.I highly recommend this book for all girls, not only for those who play Soccer.

It is great to have a quality 'Girls Team Sports' fiction book for the 8 and up set to recommend! Elementary school libraries could help fill a gap in their collections with this title! Also, nice to have a 'girl' protagonist who is good in Math!! Alex Morgan's 'character, 'Devin' provides young girls with a new type of role model; One who is refreshingly smart, a helpful team-player on and off the field, and a positive problem-solver.

My daughter thinks of Alex Morgan as a hero and it has made her actually very interested in professional soccer. If only there was a Woman's major league soccer team in the SF Bay Area for her to see on a regular basis. Anyways, she finds the story fantastic and very inspirational and just purchased the 2nd book herself which she is getting into.

I have been looking for a book about girls playing football, something they could relate to, and this one is definitely it. We haven't finished it yet, but so far it is interesting and well-written.
