The best pillow inserts
I have purchased 12 Pillowflex Synthetic Down inserts in the last month in sizes from 16x22", Standard Queen, 22" square, 24" square, and 22x36". I truly believe that this is the best insert ever made. Initially, I tried feather and down inserts but I found that 1) they mashed down 2) really were not that comfortable 3) seemed a bit lumpy 4) sometimes had an odor and probably were not good to have with a person with allergies. I gave several brands a try and found this to be the same for all of them. Not to mention the sad fact that birds made the feathers. So, how do you get the look and weight of a down pillow but overcome all of these issues? Pillowflex really has the perfect insert. I selected inserts that were at least 1" larger around to get the fullness. If I needed an insert with a bit more support, I actually would go several inches larger. Are they soft? Incredibly. Do they look like down inserts? Better. They are weighty and soft. No lumps or bumps or pokey bits. The inserts will do the karate chop pillow-crease if you like that. They are hypoallergenic. They are not the by product of an animal. They make your pillow cover look even better. I know that you could find a less expensive cover and put one of these in it and it would automatically look high quality. My covers were expensive Designers Guild fabrics but I wanted an insert that did them justice. The only thing I am not sure about is how these would be washed. They are so weighty that I wonder how they would not become a brick when wet. I will contact the company before I have to do that. As a side note, not all of their inserts have the same fill. I also purchased a bolster and found that the fill was the standard lumpy polyester fill. I can tell you that I will continue to only buy Pillowflex Synthetic Down inserts. Amazing.

Comparison to polyester pillow
This pillow is heavy and feels just like down but without any smell or pointy feathers. The 28x28 pillow fit my 26x26 Kenneth Cole euro sham perfectly. It fits the sham better than the $20 polyester euro pillow from bed bath and beyond. Attached is a photo of the polyester pillow (left) next to this pillow (right). You can see how easy and nice the "karate chop" holds in this pillow. The polyester one doesn't hold shape, and the sham is a little too loose on the polyester pillow. The only downsides to this pillow might be the heavy weight, and how it sort of looks like it has "belly fat overhang" at the base where it contacts the mattress compared to the polyester pillow. However, I believe these are the same downsides to real down, so if you want that look, then this is what to expect.

Amazing luxurious pillows, excellent quality, great price!
I have a pair of beautiful linen pillow covers that are 26 x 26. I originally tried to put them on cotton/polyester 26 x 26 pillows (silly me). When j realized I needed 28 x 28 pillows, I bought these. THEY ARE AMAZING!!!! Of course since they are the right size the pillowcase fits much better, but besides that the quality is fantastic! I was super skeptical about buying pillows online, without being able to feel them first (and I'll admit I can be a bit of a snob when it comes to quality....yet I'm on a budget...a snob on a budget is often hard to satisfy). These pillows are heavy and soft. They feel substantial and luxurious. When you lie on them you sink into them (not through them, just into them) and when you stand up they fluff right back up and look beautiful. Epitome of decorative and functional, and I'm in love. ThePicture I'm including shows my pillowcases on the 28 x 28pillow flex synthetic down (left) and the 26 x 26 cotton/polyester (right). Night and day! Couldn't be happier. Gets ALL the stars.

Perfect Choice for my Pottery Barn Sham Inserts
I really love this sham inserts for my new Pottery Barn bedding. I updated all my bedding recently and my old sham inserts were so flattened-out that the shams looked floppy and detracted from the finished look of the rest of the bedding. I looked on the Pottery Barn site to see what size inserts they recommended for the size shams I purchased (King) and they were 20 x 36 inches (and of course, very expensive). I read the reviews here and took the advice to order an inch larger than the size of my shams (21 x 37 inches), which was the same price as the smaller ones. I received them within the two-day shipping period and they are a perfect fit for my shams (as you can see from my photos). They are also very fluffy and heavy...while also being soft. They feel very much like down pillows, to the extent that they could even be used as regular bed pillows (depending on your personal taste in pillows...I prefer all-down myself for sleeping regular bed pillows). I love Amazon for purchases, both for the Prime shipping and availability of buyer reviews in order to research a product before buying. Their returns are also super easy!

Well-made, nice heft, good packaging
These are great!I like the look of pillows that match the size of the cases, but for support I prefer pillows one size larger than the cases. It's like leaning on a marshmallow instead of a cloud of cotton. ;-)See photos comparing the look of a Pilllowflex 20" pillow in an 18" case versus a Pillowflex 18" pillow in the same 18" case. The 20" pillow is on the left in each pic.

Good, but quality control can be better.
Bought 3 of these pillows and opened last night. The weight feels good, size is good. The seams could be sewn stronger though, one of the pillows the seam wasn't sewn straight so there is a dip in the material leading to a small opening/hole in the fabric. Another pillow had a stain on it of some sort. Be sure to lint tape the pillow before using, there is quite a bit of fuzz on the outside. Will be requesting an exchange for 2 out of the 3. **Update: Just returned the 2 out of 3 pillows at the UPS drop off. I noticed the 3rd pillow has a small/slight stain on it as well. The stains on both pillows were located near the bottom right corners, just FYI.
