One of the most popular mascots of high school, college and professional sports programs is the panther. Our panther, representing the University of Pittsburgh, is captured in premium cast stone for Pitt fans to admire and own. The Pitt panther, adopted by students and alumni in the fall of 1909, was the first panther mascot of any college or university. Ours is a replica of the statue that proudly stands outside the Peterson Events Center on campus.
